I’m a product of the failed system and have been waiting all my life for this topic to mean anything to anybody. I’m now 44. Thanks for addressing the elephant in the room.

Black girls deserve love, patience,empathy and support just like everyone else. The adults in this situation failed this beautiful young girl she deserved to live rest in peace Ma'Khia Bryant. 🕊️🙏🏻

I've looked at other families all my life and said to myself if my mom and her mom would have gotten the same opportunities then I could have been the Dr. I wanted to be! I'm 54 and my friends back in the day got ahead start and it still feels like we are behind and treated that way too! Yes we all need that 40 acres and ill take the mule too!!!!!!

I 98% agree with this video. I've been around foster care for 35 years. I don't agree with her being killed but the girl was more than likely going to kill the other girl. I've seen this type of violence too often in foster homes. The foster parent should be held accountable. The foster parent is supposed to have weapons and knives locked away. Children with trauma issues and foster kids aren't supposed to be left alone until they age out. (Ironically, those restrictions, reinforce poor self confidence, poor social skills, and poor self imagery. This leads to more of the systemic problems that is child welfare. Next time you see a crazy person on the street screaming with a stick, imagine decades of foster care/adoptive homes along with court systems, their paid crony psychiatrists/counselors, and social workers telling them they aren't sh*t by keeping them in some weird, pseudo science, & law denying 1984 reality.) Thank you for doing this!

Makiyah has a biracial or triracial look. I wonder if she was given up due to racial reasons and/or the youth of her parents. Her parents could just be from the Carribean. I don't know.
