A long term review of the Unparallel Up Duel Climbing Shoe.
Originally designed as a speed climbing shoe, the Up Duel has become more than that to more over the past seven months which is explained in this video review and in more detail within the written review linked below.

An honest review of an excellent shoe. Highly recommend. Owen goes to great lengths to learn as much as he can about all the products available through ESC and always has time for his customers.

Been climbing in them for a week at my gym and found they perform as well as my high end shoes. Mu gym has 17m/55ft+ walls with a huge cave section and I've been using these over my aggressive shoes with no problems. Really shocked at how well these perform when you down size them one full size or more. Like you they're my go to gym shoe now.

@@escoutdoors For sure! Also on the Up Duel - any thoughts on it vs the Up Mocc? Different midsole or same midsole?

@@thesii213 same midsole just a leather upper with a rubber toe patch. If say personally you lose the great fit and feel of the upper used on the Up Duels which you can literally fit new and know they'll stay like that throughout the life of the shoe. You do get extra protection for foot jams with the rubber toe patch but I haven't had any damage beyond scuffing on these Up Duels after a year in them now with a fair bit of indoor and outdoor crack climbing. Might be worth going down an extra half size than what I recommend in this video too on the Up Moccs as the leather will stretch a lot more than the synthetic reviewed here. @@escoutdoors Thank you! And can you remind me how you sized the Up Duel? I think you said you downsized 1.5 sizes?

@@thesii213 I did indeed! Downsized 1.5 sizes down from my UK street shoe size. This was comfortable enough for training and trad climbing but secure enough for the heel to stay in place and never pop once. I am really into heel hooks and use rely on them a lot too so that's a good testament to that sizing for me at least!

They really are a great bet especially if you're wanting the a flat/less aggressive shoe!

How close in the sizing to the old 5.10 Moccasym?? I HATE the new 5.10 NIAD Moccs. im ready to buy, but i don't want to get the wrong size. I miss the old Moccs and I hope this is its best replacement

I haven't worn the classic old style moccs personally so can't be 100% accurate on it but as these don't stretch at all it's best to go fractionally more more conservative on the fit than you might have on the leather moccs as these synthetic up duels don't stretch much at all when I had them over 9 months of consistent abuse! They is a sizing chart on the product page for these on the site for recommendations or feel free to ask for more info!
