My number 1 game of 2021. I am glad you share my excitement

This is also in my top games of 2021 if not my very top game. It’s so creative and fun. It looks overwhelming at first, but becomes intuitive pretty quickly. Highly encourage people checking out the current Kickstarter if you missed the first time. I’m back in to get the new planets. Great work O Neb fam.

Thank you for putting this so eloquently into words. I am all-in on this second kickstarter and can't wait to start exploring an feeling this sense of wonder. And I too love the writing and the humour that I have already been able to witness by watching various run-throughs.

My #1 game of 2021. I enjoy everything so much I built a live-edge table for it to be on constant display in my living room (that privilege is only shared with one other- the Trove Loot chest for Too Many Bones). A couple weeks ago I walk in and find my 5yo and 7yo had placed the planet boxes on the floor and were using them as jumping pads for a makeshift ninja obstacle course. I almost cried! Fortunately the GameTrayz saved the boxes from complete destruction; there was nothing more than creases in the graphics wraps on a few lids. With all the new content coming I may have to build some shelves and get it all well out of their reach 😄

Ah it's so good! I agree with all the highlights. This is such a *thoughtful* game, in both production (which I talked up to the gaming group for 20 minutes alone), but also feeling like the art and storytelling actually put you in another world of actual lost explorers. It's such a gem that I hope more people draw on for inspiration.

Finally had this delivered. Am prepping to play next weekend; putting cards into sleeves & watching vids to learn how to play. So excited to finally dive into it.

we have more than 10 games in and we love it soooo much, every planet is so different that i did just jump on the new planets KS, every planet has 3 missions and i recommend to play mission 1 of every planet first and then go back to mission 2 first planet to keep the fun up

nice review! this game IS in retail in the UK (as of may 2024). despite stupid prices on ebay, the whole bundle with all planets and extras can be had for under £200 or just the first two planets with extras under £100

One of the things that Rahdo does not explicitly mention when comparing to Gloomhaven is that it is not a campaign game. Nothing carries over from game to game except your knowledge of the systems and planets as a player. This allows for it to be enjoyed without thinking that you have to commit umpzillion hours and also share it with a lot of different people without felling that you are cheating on your primary player group. This is also my absolute favorite game of 2021. Thanks for the enthusiasm Rahdo!

Fantastic final thoughts, Richard, possibly your best ever. You took a game I already love and made me love it even more. I really liked your comments about how "alien" this game makes each planet feel: so true! It's such an original, interesting concept for a game. I do think it's hilarious that as glowing as this review is, Unsettled is still only your No. 7 of 2021!! You make it sound like it's one of the best games you've ever played!!!

I'm a huge fan of Orange Nebula and it's so gratifying to see someone else connect with the game the same way I did. I'd even go so far as saying it vindicates my confirmation bias. You took the words (and excitement) right out of my mouth.

Great review! This game was on my list for quite some time and it is now available in retail in Bulgaria! (If you can imagine) and your thoughts on it made me order it just now! I hope it is a banger :)

If only this game was in retail... I'm not a native english speaker and would have no one to play the game with... I would really love to try it out and experience what You said - The concept is so appealing to me, it's riddiculous! Spending so much money on a solo co-op game experience truly feels bad.

Regarding whether or not Unsettled will make it into retail stores, I can confirm a local game store near me does sell Unsettled. So it's out there, but Kickstarter is almost certainly a better bet.

So for someone who already is waiting for ISS Vanguard and Space Kraken, is it still worth getting Unsettled or would it be too much of the same/similar theme and mechanics?

How would you compare this to Forbidden Dessert? We absolutely love this game and are looking for an experience that has a similar feel.

Is the Kickstarter that's up now their second one? (The current kickstarter doesn't end until March 8, 2022 - shipping estimate Feb 2023.)

I must admit I haaate all this KS stuff. Game is from 2021. As for now (May 2022) it's nowhere o buy. The only option is to look for KS, jump in unknow waters. Overpay hugely because of currency rate, overpay hugely on shipping because not living in the US. It all make me sad panda. Well, the question is - will it be available in "normal" retail? I'm looking for sentimental journey to childhood and time spent on "Voyages of BSM Pandora" and this game scratches this itch quite good.

How are you more excited about 6 other games just last year? haha
