Crimson Idol 308 can handle it, the C3 on rallying is public safety issue

George Lynch Dixon apparently you can’t see the bigger picture here and it’s not just about the build quality( yes early in f cars weren’t great when out of factory, but many had restoration and modification done throughout the past 40+ years) The engine placement makes the 308 weight distribution better instead a nose heavy. The suspension on the 308 is just better. If you think either of these two car is random and somehow rallying you are a moron(they don’t just do whatever you want if it isn’t sorted). LOOK at how the vette driver go over each curve, that car needs to go at that speed to not be up side down or over into the wall/ditch. Common sense George! I like both car and I know what’s their own issue as I worked on and driven both model. If you think what I said was bs I’d suggest you do some research first.

I've always been surprised not more Corvettes in historic rallying. They have great weight distribution with the front-mid-engine, and Chev engines are so well known now, also some countries such as Australia allow 'over 20 year old' engine updates, that would include the lightweight LS series as well. Corvettes have actually been rallied in the past in Europe back in the day, so have other American cars such as Ford Falcons (USA and Australian), Mustangs and DeTomaso Pantera (yes from Italy, but American engine and distributed through Ford dealers in America)

Corvette misses all the agility to be a succesfull in rally they just dont rotate well ..... more a for 1/4 mile and Mc Drive car

@@roninpwns No, just no. The 98" wheelbase is shorter than the very successful Opel Manta 400 at 99". Datsun 240/280Z nose is longer and they do well in the day, and now in historics. Don't know much about cars do you.

Heh, the Stingray is guaranteed to use all the road! But the 308? Man I'd LOVE to rally one of those!!!! Absolutely epic, and seeing it like this, it reminds me so strongly of the even more beautiful and brilliantly successful Lancia Stratos. B¬)

The Corvette handles better than the ferrari..looks like a 1969 Corvette. And a ferrari 308..2 of my all time favourite cars..rallying!!!!!!

Yes the ferarri was used in several tallys from around 1979-1986. It was not as competitive as the ford mk2 Escort and such cars ofcourse but on tarmac events it was used quiet much. some gravel too.

Well, the Ferrari 308 isn't so unusual. I now what you mean, but Tonino Tognana become italian rally champion with a 308 gts in 1982; so, Ferrari wins even in rallys! And Tognana thinks that the car have the potential to do better.. but then he drove a Lancia 037 and retired.

I hope they changed the rear suspension, leaf springs and a solid rear axle would get you into a lot of trouble

r u talking about the Vette? C3, C4, C5, C6 Corvettes have transverse leaf springs with independent rear suspensions since 1963.
