In today’s episode of Let’s Teach - the story of Christian Gerhartsreiter, a man from a small town in Germany who managed to pass himself off as Clark Rockefeller, a member of one of the wealthiest families in America.
He murdered, cheated, and lied his way to the top and - in the process - nearly destroyed the lives of his wife and daughter.
It was August 2008 and Sandra Boss - a top executive at a renowned consulting firm - was relieved that her daughter had been found. Several days earlier, her ex-husband, Clark Rockefeller, had abducted the seven-year-old girl, in an attempt to start a new life with her.
Clark was an incredibly wealthy and influential man who helped Third World countries manage their debt. Or at least, that’s who he said he was.
But over the next few weeks, Sandra would learn that everything she knew about her ex-husband was a lie. For starters, he wasn’t even American. And more chillingly, it would later be revealed that he was a murderer.
