Wow! What a great idea! Those lavender flowers are gorgeous! I put this up on Pinterest, so I can find it when I get a chance to try it. Can’t wait. I have some lovely napkins to play with TFS.

There are so many more patterns in napkins than in tissue paper I just had to try it and just love the see through look.

A great way of taking the sheets off the back to the napkins is take a piece of tape and stick it to the back and lift up and it will tear it for you where you can continue to tear off. Should it have a second layer do it again. It's so easy this way.

thank you Flowers I have seen that done just never seem to remember it when I need it LOL

Hi Tanya. Did you know modge podge is a liquid plastic? Try this: Take a piece of computer paper, some baby oil, and a cotton ball. Dip your cotton ball into the baby oil and rub on to the computer paper. Keep dipping and rubbing the oil into the paper. Pat dry with a paper towel. It will not be greasy after it drys. You can stamp on it and print on it. This is true faux vellum. Hope this helps!!!

HI Laurie yes I do know it is plastic, just like most of the paint I use is plastic. I have seen the oil used to make Vellum but here in the south I am really afraid that it would become rancid very fast and would also attract bugs. I will have to give it a try and see what happens there is also mineral oil that could be used. Thanks for the info.

I tried this and mine continues to leave grease spots, weeks later, on anything it touches that will draw out oil. But it looks amazing! Just need to figure out how to get it to stop leaving grease spots.

Can you reuse the sheets of freezer paper, or is there a coating on it that comes off on the napkin?
@TanyaMcGuire5 жыл бұрын
Hi I reuse them over and over until the build up seems to be too much and then that usually peels off and I keep using it until it gets super bad which takes a long time. :-) the coating stays on the paper you want to use the shinny side

@@TanyaMcGuire thanks for replying, will have to get some (not available in Ireland at a reasonable price so will outsource, lol!)

So what happens if you do the baby oil and then the modge podge?
@TanyaMcGuire5 жыл бұрын
Lori I am not sure as I do not use the baby oil just the mod podge. Let me know if you find out.😍

Thank you so much Tanya, I tried it once but it stuck to the glass,

You will have to try again :-) but with something plastic under it I have not had a problem other than a little edge tear here and there.

I have done this technique. But it had cracked after a few months. Any suggestions?
@TanyaMcGuire6 жыл бұрын
Hi I really don't know I have pieces in books that are at least 6 months old and have no cracking. Are you taking the extra layers of the napkin off.
@chrisholler1516 жыл бұрын
My napkins keep bubbling and wrinkling. I am watering down Modge Podge. Any suggestions?
@TanyaMcGuire6 жыл бұрын
maybe too much water I just barely add a spoon full of water and wipe your brush off before you start to apply it. So a lighter layer if that makes sense.
@chrisholler1516 жыл бұрын
Tanya McGuire that makes perfect sense. I think I got the acrylic paint water for fabric covers and the decoupage vellum water amounts confused.
@TanyaMcGuire6 жыл бұрын
that will do it. let me know if you get it sorted out 😄
@chrisholler1516 жыл бұрын
Well I try putting a thin coat of Modge Podge not water down too much on to the freezer paper before putting the napkin and it helps hold the napkin for me. I also put only enough Modge Podge to go up my paintbrush maybe a quarter of an inch and I held my brush very flat so that it was more evenly coating. I also noticed the one brand of napkin was called a buffet napkin it didn't do so well but my other luncheon napkins did better. I think I'm just going to have to play with it and it just might be certain brands have a certain thickness don't work well with me. Thanks again for your help
@TanyaMcGuire6 жыл бұрын
Playing is what it is, try it with some tissue paper too as that is a little heavier and easier to work with.
