The Kroger employees are the real heroes. They're putting themselves in harm's way working incredible hours to keep stores stocked. Who saw this coming a week or two ago? Cash bonuses, hazard pay, gloves, protective equipment, breaks, rest, sanitizer, cleaning supplies, etc Kroger employees deserve it all right now.

You should consider raising the wages of all of your associates during this time. They have been working tirelessly and many have sacrificed so much. Many companies and stores are closing their doors to the public and promising to pay their employees while they are away from work. In the meanwhile Kroger stores have undoubtedly had massive sales increases and your employees are the ones on the front lines doing the hard labor and putting themselves at high risk to catch the virus. Please step and do the right thing. Show that you value your employees and not just the giant sales increases. They should receive immediate raises and back pay for any shift worked during the past two weeks.

@Jose Bass And YOU need to pay for those raises all by yourself! It's not the company's fault that people are too stupid to realize that the common flu has killed over five times more people in the USA this year than this "Wuhan virus", and the US government has an official "flu shot" that is supposed to keep people from catching it. Don't get me wrong, we should be concerned about the "Wuhan virus", but the common flu is far deadlier, but NEVER gets the attention that it deserves!

Thank you to all of the associates and management teams who work so hard to keep the shelves stocked. Are you going to provide a shopping hour just for seniors soon. Extra protection would be most appreciated since the senior community is the most vulnerable. I do shop early just after the store opens when I do "need" any staples.

I don't work for Kroger anymore, but I will say that I know they're doing their best - everyone is. They can only send out what the distro centers have, and if the DC is out of something, they obviously can't send it, so there will be times that there will be days btwn trucks.

Rodney, I feel that you and the other leaders of the company should really think about shutting stores down to walk in customers, and just having the pick up and delivery service for the current time. Employees can still stock shelves, clean and do other things to get the stores back into shape. This would also limit the "hoarders" and other such people from wiping out what we are currently stocking and perhaps assist the communities a bit more with what they really need. I feel there also needs to be outreach to the senior community as well to see how we can assist them more in this perilous time. Just my opinion, but I hope it is heard.

Kroger spent millions on employee training called DC1C. Too bad they can't practice what was preached in this training. Unfortunately talks cheap with company. Yes they offer short term as well as long term disabilty for their employees, yet when that benefit is needed or used by most employees, they end up having issues when they come back to work. Either HR being horses asses or management singling that employee out for unnecessary harrassment. Kroger company don't preach how you care about your employees when the only main concern you have is your stock price.

Associate Wellbeing & Safety Our associates are on the frontlines, ensuring Americans have access to the food, services and products they need during this unprecedented pandemic. We are committed to protecting the health and safety of our associates. We’ve let our associates know they are permitted to wear protective masks and gloves, and we are working hard to secure these resources. There is a national shortage of personal protective equipment like this, and we fully support America’s health care workers having first priority to obtain the equipment they need. We are advocating to government officials at all levels for help securing a priority place in line for all grocery workers - after health care workers - to have access to protective masks and gloves. We continue to enhance our daily sanitation practices, including cleaning commonly used areas more often like cashier stations, self-checkouts, credit card terminals, food service counters and shelves. And, we are now installing plexiglass partitions at check lanes, including pharmacy counters and Starbucks registers, to further promote physical distancing. In addition, we are installing educational floor decals to promote physical distancing at check lanes and other counters. Additionally, we’ve adjusted store operating hours across the country to allow more time for our associates to rest, clean and replenish inventory. We have enacted Emergency Leave Guidelines, allowing paid time off for associates diagnosed with COVID-19, placed under mandatory quarantine and paid time off for self-isolation and symptoms as verified by an accredited health care professional. All eligible associates will receive their standard pay for up to two weeks (14 days). For those affected by COVID-19, the organization has also made available $5 million through the Kroger Family of Companies Helping Hands fund to provide financial assistance to associates who face hardship due to COVID-19, including lack of access to childcare and for those considered higher-risk. We believe all these steps will help to ensure the safety of our associates and help our communities to flatten the curve while at the same time meeting our obligation to be there for our customers. Additionally, we are providing all hourly frontline grocery, supply chain, manufacturing, pharmacy and call center associates with a Hero Bonus - a $2 premium above their standard base rate of pay, applied to hours worked March 29 through April 18. The premium will be disbursed weekly to ensure associates have access to additional cash. The Hero Bonus follows and is in addition to our previous commitment shared on March 21, which provided a one-time bonus to frontline associates.

You know it's kind of funny how Kroger employees are treated like crap I work for Kroger and it just makes me sad that Barney Kroger started this company and a lot of the Kroger managers and even some employees don't respect our core values and when I say that employees are treated like crap a lot of managers do not show respect to their employees I mean not to be mean here but a lot of managers want you to work harder because all they care about is getting a bonus

And I should know because I experienced this everyday I wish I could talk to Rodney McMullen and let him know about stuff going on in this company Kroger shouldn't be just a job it should be a place where people are cared for and respected not only should our customers be treated with respect but our employees as well and sometimes we don't have the right equipment or we have stuff that breaks down all the time and have to get it repaired all the time

I'm also going to mention how store managers force you to work even if you're sick I have a store manager in the store I work in that treats her employees like crap and she forces you to work while you're sick whether it's the flu or something else she's one of the people that only cares about filling her pocket and let's go ahead and talk about this Kroger says fresh food low prices okay the fresh food part I can agree with but the low prices I don't think so a pound of roast beef in the deli is $14 a pound okay a pound of ham is $9.99 let's talk about the cheese 849 a pound that don't seem like a low prices I mean what you pay for 1 lb of roast beef is like 3 days of meals or that's like a quarter tank of gas I mean anymore Kroger has become greedy now I know Rodney McMullen has over 100 million dollars which I get it he likes money but like I said before this company is not built on the core values that they put out there Barney Kroger would turn over in his grave if he seen how his company turned out I seen an interview with Rodney McMullen where he said no one should ever have to go hungry yeah that's if you apply for food stamps and let's talk about all the food that Kroger wastes everyday Every single night in the deli we have to throw away tons of chicken and a lot of deli meat gets wasted instead of donating it to shelters or food pantries they'd rather throw it in the trash I don't care to speak up against Kroger even though I work for the company because if we're going to say something about our core values if we're going to practice what we preach then I think that all this needs to be said a change is needed for Krogers how are we feeding the human spirit when people can't even afford to feed themselves anymore because Kroger keeps raising their prices I just wanted to be honest

Thanks for letting us get assaulted by hordes of people while we have to work sick. I got bronchitis but I can't stop working to rest while hacking up a lung. Bills to pay, and mouths to feed.
