Is that a common issue with those; cracked pistons?

Yes , 90% of the time with these old Hemi 6 cylinders, the pistons will be cracked. So if someone sells you an engine and they say it’s a good runner , it probably is but it could have the same problem

Not true hemi, but very close valve s canted 18%
