Actually, no one knows what people in Illinois are thinking. The last poll taken here (I live here also) was last October, and Biden was ahead only by 9 points then. Since then, we've had massive outrage from blacks in Chicago over the immigrants flooding the city and sucking up financial resources. They are smart enough to blame Democrats. You also have a lot of working class people in Chicago -- people who are reeling from grocery and energy prices. And you have a shift in Hispanics towards Trump. Illinois has the 4rd largest Hispanic population in the country, most in the Chicago area. And you have a lot of traditionally Democratic Jewish people in the Chicago area who are fed up with the antisemitism coming out of the Democratic party. They may vote for RFK Jr. or Trump.
