Astro Pneumatic probably has the best service in tbe industry (outside of the tool truck guys that actually warranty stuff).

+1 for the Astro hub kit. I don’t do a lot of press in style bearing but it has always worked great and even if you take the while knuckle off and put it in the vice I still find it easier than trying to set it up in the press. But maybe that is because my first time doing a press in bearing I grenaded it by pressing the new race out with the hub 🤦♂️

I have that Astro wheel bearing kit and it works great. Cheaper than the HF Maddox kit & better quality as well.

Have you had to invest in press tools for the Gen2 hubs used on Ford/LR/Volvo/VW where the bearing is already on the hub?..... which means you have to get around the hub to press in the bearing?
@ghostwrench22922 жыл бұрын
You have to pull the hub out of the bearing then press the bearing from the wheel knuckle.

Have a question for you FRM, I recently started a auto job in a California Dealership about two months ago, at first the service manager and I agreed he’d start me off at 18/hr and see how I’d do since I told him I had experience 15yrs of it. Is it too soon to ask him for that $/hr that I wanted? Others tell me to just get another job because they don’t take me serious. What should I do?

Just my two cents, it’s not hard to find a job right now, especially technicians. If he’s screwing you around, shop around and see what’s out there. A lot of times, places like this will bank on you being lazy to look or afraid to leave. I know a guy that asked for a raise, they said they couldn’t do it. A couple weeks later, he put in his notice. All of a sudden, they found room in the budget to offer him a raise.

I have a cheap Amazon press in bearing set. For $139 it rocks! I never need a press and can usually get the job done in half the time.
