Thank you! Everywhere else I looked, they missed the last step of going to the Tool, EZ flash utility menu. I can finally update my BIOS 🙌

Hi David, i have a problem with my Z690-Plus D4 without Wifi.. It's keeps saying that this is no the proper file to update my bios. Tried it 4 time's ,checked if it is the right CAP file but still no bios flash to update my recent bios v2305 to v2801. My Usb stick is Fat32 and 8 gb size and empty before i copy the file to it..Used de bios-rename file and tryed without it to flash but no go....hhhhhhelp ;-)

You need to carefully make sure you have the BIOS file that matches. For example, if you don't have WiFi on your new BIOS file, but try to load one that says WiFi, then it won't work. Quite often there are two or three different BIOS descriptions that appear to match what you have, but something is actually different.

Thank you David There are a few other important things I wanted to mention: Make sure to use an USB 2.0 Stick For BIOS/UEFI Updates. Make sure the USB Stick is of smaller size such as 4 or 8 GB. Ensure the USB Stick is FAT32 formatted (I go as far to have a dedicated USB Stick for BIOS updates only) Once you downloaded the correct BIOS/UEFI version for your Motherboard make sure the downloaded Version is correct eg.: B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2 (with built in WIFI) B550 AORUS ELITE V2 (without WIFI) The difference are 2 Letters that decide if the BIOS update will work or not not. Also make sure you download the correct Version eg. Ver. 1.4 / Ver. 1.2 and so on. The version number on a Gigabyte Board can be found printed in the left lower corner of the board. Or you check on the Motherboard box (If still available) or in CPU Z. Otherwise it will not work and the PC should refuse outright to update the BIOS. If you have more than one file in the downloaded ZIP File just copy the the file that looks like a white page onto the prepared USB Stick. This File can not be read by any Windows Version, nor should it be, but BIOS/UEFI can recognize and access it and use it to update BIOS/UEFI. For BOARDS without specifically marked/designated BIOS/UEFI USB port, use a USB 2.0 (usually marked Black) USB Port. Never use an USB 3.0 USB Port. For Board with a designated BIOS update USB Port use this port only for the BIOS /UEFI update. If you are unsure check the manual for your specific Board. For ASUS Boards it is important to have enough patience and just wait, ASUS updates the BIOS First it also updates RGB LED Firmware and on Intel Boards the Intel Management Engine Firmware. For AMD AM4 AsRock Boards that run Windows 11 specifically Before you update the BIOS/UEFI you will see a WARNING Window to DISABLE the FTPM in BIOS First. Disable it and then Press F10, Save and Yes. After the PC restarted go back into the BIOS/UEFI by Pressing DEL repeatedly. Once back in the BIOS/UEFI Update the BIOS/UEFI. If this extra step is not done it will afterwards and otherwise create havoc in Windows 11 login after the BIOS/UEFI update.

My OS boots way too fast, do you have any tips? I am using a ASUS B760M-Plus Wifi D, 12400F, GTX 1070 (via DisplayPort).I'm ready to cry :( At no point does my screen display bios/motherboard information, the first screen I see is windows.

My guess is that your BIOS was set to (or defaulted to) rapid boot without display. Have you tried resetting your BIOS by shorting the two motherboard pins (or removing the BIOS batter) for a few seconds)?

@@PE4Doers part of my issue is that my cpu doesn’t have graphics, and it doesn’t seem to like my 1070. I can get the bios with a 1030. Appreciate your reply, I don’t know if any of what I’ve said helps, but it’s very frustrating. Any ideas why the 1070 graphics card wouldn’t show the bios?

@@flinty8121 That is strange. I used a 1070 in my daily driver/editing PC for about 4 yrs without any problems. I actually still have it on the shelf as a spare. Did you try all the ports? Including both the HDMI and all the DPs?

@@PE4Doers yes. The 1030 only has hdmi and dvi, so I considered this and checked hdmi on the 1070. I’ve turned fast boot off, and put a 3 second post delay on, but still the 1070 displays nothing until the windows screen. It’s crazy to think I’ll have to switch gpus just to enter the bios.
