I like the L22 most. I originally thought The 251 was better too but I had to do more eq to get it right. It’s dope tho for that price it’s a really good.

The Wa251 doesn't sound like the original 251 , but the l22 is really close to the 251

OK Ok cool yeah it’s pretty much mix ready once you do a low cut. I like the smoothness of the Townsend but I must admit the wa251 is warmer

Same. I’ve done tons of tests and I like how smooth the Townsend is. The warm mics can be a bit harsh with certain preamps. They sound good but the wa251 is a little congested in the low mids and the wa8000 can be harsh on the top end

Thanks I agree! I even always pick the 251 setting in the sphere. I have a new video coming showing more mics and the TF51 fits my voice really well and is a better mic. It is made by Telefunken, the same company that makes the real Elam 251, video will be up by tomorrow

Thank you for watching I do love the WA8000. I went back and forth with it because it’s so sensitive and can be harsh sometimes. but I’m glad I have it but that’s how the real Sony 800 is as well. The Townsend is more versatile but I end up just using the 251 emulation in it for my voice. And thanks for the compliment! Im mostly a songwriter and producer but I’m going to start releasing more for the hell of it.

I actually ordered wa8000 second time, I think for the first time I used it with ISA one, and it wasn't good match. Will see with 73 style pre. I saw your new short, did you already test lauten fc387 and tlm 103, how do they compare to wa8000?

@@btsrapTV I used it with an ISA One the first time too. I have a Neve 5211 and I’m testing the WA273 and I like it with both but the Neve is my fav preamp so far. The FC387 is like my new favorite. It’s really 3 mics in one and each setting sound different and really next level for the price. It has a setting called Foward that is sort of like the bright Sony 800 sound but I actually like the Lauten better and I’ve used the Sony 800 once. Also the neutral setting sounds like a U87. The TLM103 is quality as well and great for traveling cuz of the size. T-Pain uses it on his lives. Personally Out of the 3 I would get the Lauten first then the 8000 then tlm103

Hey, I really appreciate your help man, very nice from you. Your opinion actually convinced me, and I've ordered Atlantis. You like it better then 800g, that's great. Did you find any sibilance issue with Atlantis? I really would like it to be great, so far I've dismissed u87(to dull), Manley reference(too thin), Townswed l22 (no magic), Wa 251(too harsh), Leewit 940(bland), tf 29(it wasnt bad, but not awesome) at4060(lack highs), wa CX 12, Soyuz 17, chandler tg(something wierd with high frequencies) and like 20 more mics. I am counting on that Atlantis, a lot. Last question how Telefunken tf51 compare to Atlantis? Which is better for you?

@@btsrapTV whoa you dismissed some mics I want to try the Manley Leewit, and U87. I really like the Atlantis and TF51. Neither one are overly sibilant. I wouldn’t want to be without either. TF51 is a tube but very small power supply and really nice package. I found that telefunken 251 style mics fit my voice really nice so i may lean slightly to the TF51 but the Atlantis brings the magic. The 3 different tones all sound really good. It picks up everything in the room though so you need better acoustics with it. The TF51 has super low noise. The lowest out of all the mics I tried. I wouldn’t say there is a “better” you went through a lot of mics so I’m not sure what you would like. It depends on the style of music you make and your voice frequencies. I will say the right preamp really brings out the mic. The Neve 5211 makes the Atlantis and TF51 really shine. It’s a dope pre that can be either clean or you can dial in harmonics. I like the WACx12 I think it’s the best mic I’ve tried from Warm Audio tied with the 8000. Although I would pick the Atlantis. All of these mics are really good in my opinion. TPain records on a TLM103 and it sounds amazing. You just gotta figure out What artists sound do you really love and what mic would help get your particular voice to that sound like that. Btw if you use one of my links to buy from Zzounds I get a piece. Just throwing that out there. Well I kept the Sphere and returned the wa251. The wa is a little harsh in the mids. The sphere is smoother in the highs and sounds closer to a real 251 in my opinion.

Also another mic in some other video called Aventone pro 12 got lots of praises, bout $400 , I might have to research it some more..Thanks man

Well I own the WA8000 and its a great mic, but the the Townsend Labs for its versatility and people say its really close to the mics its modeling. I'm going to do a video talking about the Vocal Chain I chose to go with.
