Много интересен UPS. Не бях виждал такъв. Отлична преработка!

Компактен е и ми хареса много, без трансформатор е. Със сигурност изкарва правоъгълни импулси, но както и да е ще ми върши работа🙂

the charge voltage is 13.5v on the ups and the batteries are cut off at 12.9, it can generally signal the absence of a battery when the charge is turned off, also when lithium is discharged, you can discharge up to 9 volts and the ups blocks at 11.5, on some 10.5, half the power will be idle

First time I saw UPS like this! 😀 This way UPS will have more working time. Excellent work again👌

Really Bro, with Lithium batteries became 1/3 lighter and 4 times more durable if we think about how it was with the old battery🙂 Thank you my Brother🙏🤝🤝🤝

Granted converting to Li-Ion will grant much longer run time, most UPS's that were built to run on small SLA batteries might overheat if you run them the full time the upgraded battery would give them and especially if you use them close to the rated wattage rating . I'd recommend you'd at least install a cooling fan and try to avoid actually putting a full load on it longer then the designed run time. Recently I installed a cable extension to my APC CS 500 UPS so I could connect a much larger 12AH SLA battery. I ran my PC off it for a good 5 minutes which is close to it's designed run time and noticed how warm a certain part of the APC case got due to the larger transformer it has inside it and I instantly knew I wouldn't want to run it much longer then that. :P The bigger battery I installed was mostly so it could handle a higher current draw and less focused on getting more runtime. :P

I have heard that because of the different working voltages of lead acid vs Li the UPS will want to charge and discharge to inappropriate levels for Li. Does the BMS protect the cells from overcharge and overdischarge?

I'd definitely recommend trying to install a cooling solution (like a fan) of some type if you intend to run it at it's rated wattage for significantly longer then the originally designed run time it would have gotten with the original battery. Small UPS's like this can overheat if run for too long beyond that since they wouldn't expect the thermals to get out of control for the short run time they would be expected to run at with the original battery. ;) It's probably fine if you aren't running your gaming rig off the UPS and just have a few lights or something plugged in though. :P But definitely avoid maxing the wattage out on it. Can definitely see it overheating if you try that. (and more so since this looks like a 240v UPS due to the outlet designs? I'm in the USA and my 120v UPS gets noticeably warm from a extended run time on battery so I imagine the larger voltage difference could have more heat generation then the smaller voltage difference the USA version would have over the 12v batteries these typically use. That UPS looks pretty wimpy though. Probably sub 150 watt rating on it I bet. Maybe the really small ones can't get warm enough. But if you got a 300+ watt unit like mine, heat generation will definitely become a problem.

Thank you for the advice, I will monitor the temperature and if necessary, as you said, I can also install a fan if it gets hot.🙂🤝

UPS' charge lead acid batteries up to 13.8~14,0V, but 3S lithium batteries full charged are only 12,6V. Will BMS overcome that? Also under voltaje will not take full advantaje of lithium batts.
@ErCanEverything
@ErCanEverything 2 жыл бұрын
I know this but when the voltage reaches 12.6 ~ 12.8V the BMS turns off the charging. The minimum voltage for a Lead Acid battery is 10.5V while for a 3S Li-ion it is 9.6 ~ 9.9V

@@ErCanEverything Exactly. So how does the UPS handle this behavior? I would expect it freaking out when the battery basically disconnects in the middle of the charging cycle (due to BMS protecting Li-ion cells from overcharge). Othervise the lower voltage of Li-Ion is just causing it to not use the whole capacity of these batteries, so it will never use whole 22Ah, which is non-issue I guess. It will improve the life-span of those batteries.

BMS turns off charging and voltage shows 12.10V switching is very fast and voltage never breaks

@@ErCanEverything OK. Did you try it with some more advanced UPS? Mine is connected to the server by USB and reporting all sorts of things including the state of charge of the battery - most probably calculated from the voltage. So I wonder if this will work for me as well. If I am lucky it will just report it was able to charge the battery only to something like 50% and probably recommend battery replacement, right? Or do you think the charging would be happy as it considers battery fully charged when the charging current goes to zero? So the only confused part will be the SOT reporting as it will see low voltage for fully charged battery?

@ErCan Everything You will killl those cells, because of incompatibility in opration voltage range... Also lithium batteries only offers 1C of continious current, so in UPS they quckly die due to over discharging and and drowing too much current from them... I highly recommend to modyfiy UPS circuitry to change cut off voltage and charging voltage/current accorting to datasheet of used cells, eventually if u don''t want to mod anything, you can use lifepo4 cells - they are souitable replacements for acid batteries, so you don't have to change anything in the UPS circuitry...

Интересно ми е дали няма да се скапе батерията бързо, тъй като UPS-а ще се опитва да я зарежда като оловен акумулатор и ще и дава по-високо напрежение от 12.4V?
@ErCanEverything
@ErCanEverything Жыл бұрын
Максималното напрежение на 3S Liion пакетът е 12,6V. Но BMS'ът който сложих във пакета спира зареждането щом като напрежението надмине 12,7V (Директно изключва потока към батериите)

You really want to use Kapton tape and not duct tape for many reasons, like duct tape likes to burn really well, and fast. And thats not something id feel safe on a lipo cell. Not to mention duct tape is also one heck of a thermal insulator, and again, heat does not play nice on lipo's.
