If I remember the episode in question correctly, they were a divorcing couple. He took their trailer home and drove it with her still inside, Marwani had to break through the sunroof to get the woman out before the trailer collided with a low overpass. They in turn sued the department because of “mistakes” and were awarded a hefty sum, which they used to buy a sports car and arrived promptly here. I think social media was somehow involved because later in the episode Marwani uses her social to embarrass the couple who embarrassed her. Kinda gets fuzzy after that to be honest.

The crew rescued the wife in episode 2 of season 4 when she was inside a house the WHITE TRASH husband was trying to destroy when he took it down the road with her in it. They were divorcing and the judge gave her the house and her ex was not happy about it so he tried to destroy it. In the moment, the firefighter trying to get her out a skylight referred to her as "acting crazy" and she appreciated being rescued, but came back later and the couple filed a lawsuit against her for using the term - essentially just seeing it as a means to extract money from the city. They wanted a one on one apology, recorded and posted on Marjans social media account where she had millions of followers just for social media clout. She refused and quit the department. So the couple got a lot of money from the city and this luxury car was one of their purchases. He was driving like a d*ck, cutting people off and came around a corner too fast and skidded off the road and slid sideways into a truck full of manure. It dumped into the car and they were stuck. The medics checked them out for any life threatening injuries and they were medically fine and not in danger of ingulfment syndrome. The mechanism of injury and vehicle damage in this case showed no major trauma or life threatening injuries. So they chose the slightly slower form of rescue. Every claim the crew made could be fully supported in the incident report. And you better believe they were going by the book after their previous encounter. In this particular episode, the two stuck are a couple who almost got the female firefighter fired for not going “by the book” and refused to ask her FireFox followers to donate thousands of dollars to the couple, got thousands of dollars from their own followers to get a “dream house” after theirs burned down, and then instead bought a pricey sports car with the money they got from their followers. It was a double helping of karma: being stuck in the poop and then them going by the book.
