I made a return trip back to the only place that gave me the creeps. My first trip was a failure as I chickened out half way through the place. Well I decided to go back and this time, I made it through the whole house. The place smelled bad as soon as I walked in. It smelled like a dead animal. One top of that, I got a couple knocking sounds on video as I entered the third floor. This house was built in the very early 1800s as a farmhouse to Mr. Livingston. Today, the house resides on a private overgrown road owned by a developer with no intentions for it at the moment. The house has been vacant for 10 years and was once owned by the private school near by before being sold to a developer. The house is listed as a historical house.

Hmm...many fireplaces, rad heaters and floor furnace...must have been a very cold house in the winter! I hate to keep repeating myself but again, a beautiful video.

Does anyone else imagine what it would have been like to live in such a big beautiful house? All those rooms. I hate to see these old house being left to rot. Do love how you pan slowly and give us time to see things. Thanks!

I'm sure the rotting smell was just a raccoon in the chimney or some such. The noose was clearly unused.

Nice video. Thanks! The knocking was interesting. I once visited an office building at night. It was 2 levels and was being renovated. The person I was with went to turn some lights off before we left. After he walked away from me, I heard footsteps below us on the stairs. I called "hello" but heard nothing after that. We even looked around the building more, but there was no one there.

I'm of Pa. Dutch (Pa. German) ancestry on both sides of my family and was born, raised and still live in Lancaster County, Pa. I was born and raised on a small farm, where I still live today, and houses and sometimes barns that were built by Pa. Dutch and are made of stone or brick often times have a "date stone" above the doorway to the house and less frequently in the wall somewhere. Often times that date stone will include the name of the original owner and his wife who either built the house or had it build. Growing up I was told that the date stone with owners/builders name had a significance to the Pa. Dutch other than just saying who build it and when but unfortunately I don't remember why anymore. Did you happen to notice if this old stone home has a date stone and what the date was on it? Great video by the way and as always it's a shame to see these beautiful old homes being left to be vandalized and fall down! History lost is lost forever, but at least, thanks to you and other "explorers" there will at least be a video and photo record of them!

More like the "Livingston" mansion than house...lol This place is huge. Very spacious and fit for a large family. I only wished that a home like this could have been kepted alive and well maintained instead of sitting in ruin and rotten away. Steve I don't recall seeing those noose on the first video. Not exactly a pleasant sight. But great video (and camera shots) nevertheless. I always imagine in my mind what these homes once looked like when lived in and tooling cared of before the abandonment, which is why I love watching your videos. I'm always fascinated by older built homes from along time ago. As always Steve, keep em coming ☺

Wow, after hearing those footsteps when you were upstairs, how could you even go into the basement? I would've been out of there in a flash!! Especially with the noose and the dead smell!! But you shouldn't ever go alone. You should at least be with 2 more people just to be safe, and with a gun. You'll never know what you're walking into. Anyway love all your videos!! Be safe.

The saddest part is all the love and care that went into building this place. That's what kills me about these urbex videos. There are a ton of historic homes being torn down because they are outdated in design and modern features.

These houses that you explore..could actually be beautiful and most likely in their Hey-Day, they were..It's just sad that they are left to rot and decay..With so many people building million dollar homes..they oughta take the time and pay attention to what's out there that could be rehabed and bought with short money and have their dreams realized..I would love to restore some of these places...

That is one big house.It must of been very beautiful in its day.May be there is some kind of animal living in the walls or the attic and that is what the smell and knocking noise is or may be the smell is just an accumulation of every thing rotting.Thank you for the video it was a good one .Looking forward to seeing the other house.

Great video ! The house is very cool to explore . It´s hard to count the amount of rooms i´ve seen inside there . I remember when you´ve been in this house ,but i can´t remember the video . If i could find the video i´d like to see again .

Very interesting video of the now abandoned Livingston House. It is interesting to note that a few parts inside of Livingston House seem to be in relative good - fair condition, whilst the rest of the house shows that it has been abandoned and left in a rotting condition. The Hot Water Tank seemed to be in relative good condition, as well as some of the doors inside of the building. The building does NOT appear to be safe to walk and tour through it.

Sometime, if you can remember, check out the door hinges in these old houses. My house was built in 1884 and all the hinges are molded with flowers, vines and other objects. I'd like to know if that was a common thing or if it's rather unique to my house.

It meant the builders of your house had some money to spend for the time period. Door hardware was always more expensive the exquisite it was. Usually hinges were the last thing thought of when it came to design, but if they had the money for it, they spent it.

The noose was creepy. The whole house was, but I also had to notice the beauty and craftsmanship in the house. The French doors, the window casings, the fireplaces. That beautiful green wood detail in the kitchen. There were four bedrooms on the second floor, and what, three on the third? Just beautiful, and so sad to see it in this condition.

Great house, I can't understand why this was left to ruin like this and all the land to farm, back in the day this house omg bet was great to live in, the higgledy-piggledy house with the nuts and crannies is fab I would of loved it. Now it's totally needs coming down to sort this house would cost an arm and leg. Shame

Really good work, and definitely haunted (or just inhabited :-) ), I got tired of those fake ghost shows both tv & u-tube, so I stumbled across an explore abandoned vids- man I see more stuff in one of those than 5 years watching Zak run, lol. I enjoyed the lighting and slow steady camera shots- very real, like I was there. Plus daytime is the way to go no need to go at night too dangerous. This house was a challenge though the entities stayed put - for me to verify them they have to 3M- move, morph or manifest. Plus this home had weird shaped stuff on the wall and hanging around that looked entity-like but wasn't, for example @4:24 when you walk in to that side room in the middle of the floor by that wood frame? there is a rust colored ball= that is a ghost (I know disappointing :-0) I had to put it under a scope to see it turn its head and move its eyes-but other things I couldn't tell @4:50 in the hallway midway on ceiling & at the end above door ??? WTF is that ? Its just before you say "something really smells". Its probably nothing but if it is...not good. Ok sorry for the long comment, take care David!!!

Part of me wishes that you would say where these places are, since you do in some of your videos and a majority of them are in Pennsylvania (where I live), but also as an abandoned explorer myself, I COMPLETELY understand not disclosing the location because it's pretty heartbreaking when cool places like this get vandalized and ruined.

Yea i do not disclose locations due to safety reasons and to protect the location. More than explorers want to see these places for bad reasons.

I think this was so scary was all the paint hanging down. and what was that down the stairs from the purple room. weird little areas. looked like the house was 4 levels including basement (scary). another great video. shame another lost home

A shady way to dodge the historical not as bad as Steve jobs method though. Bought historical estate with not being able to demolish the house specifically in the contract. His plan from the beginning was to build his own mansion since only the land/view was desired. To sidestep he moved in, out then sealed it up and waited for total neglect to ignore his legal agreement for him. After several court rejections of it's too expensive to repair it finally was allowed after so much time passing. Though I'm thinking his 7 billion net worth could have done it easily. In the end even he still had to demolish this and get his way all that materialized was a pool, not used and the family is not going to build anything on the site.

well well.. did you notice that in your first video of this house it didnt have that noose hanging from the ceiling..and those two chairs were together and now they are separated so that means some one was messing around.. i m watching both vidoes (now) . and that glass vase in the kitchen is not in your first video.. wow crazy.. it is a beautiful house.. with so many rooms.. its like a maze .. what was that machine/gadget in the basement.. its very creepy but thrilling.. thanks for the amazing tour..

This house was big to start with. The Livingstons must have been very affluent. What a beautiful home: one of those places that makes me want to see the original residents in their late 1700's-ealy 1800s clothes. Probably not much furniture as this was before mass production and well before the Victorian period. At the end of the day (literally and not the popular figure of speech!) the furniture was very likely moved so it would be against the walls and "at rest" as our ancestors used to say. There must be some great artifacts buried around the house and maybe foundations of barns and other structures.. Maybe it's just the light blue trim and all that white peeling paint but I find the house to now be an unsettling, uncomfortable place. What with the density and size of the trees it's been a very long time since any farming was done. If the developer wants the house to decay it looks he or she is getting what they want. I hope there will be some salvage of stone and other re-usable materials. May some archaeology students can do some work there while there's still an opportunity.

I can definitely see why this place would creep ya out, Steve. Was it just my own psychic sensitivity, or does that place genuinely give off bad vibes? Shee-yit. Ya done good -- and actually captured what may be (arguably) the paranormal phenomena of the tapping sound in that one room. I couldn't help but notice that the whole interior design seemed ... well, downright creepy; everything gave the false impression of elegant space, but was actually quite narrow (halls, stairs, even some rooms.) Was that your impression as well?

Here is a few spirits I captured, @4:51 just as your turning into the room in the window (right middle window pane) great shot of a head/apparition. Nice orbs/spirits @5:41 & @8:35 in the basement- now near the end of @7:56 top right corner of screen theres a light/face same lights u start walking up on @8:40 on the floor(also see above on ceiling white face/orb?) I believe these to be a group of spirits- changing size formation. There should be nothing outside the window to affect that change. Best though is look beyond that into the dark room straight back, you will see 2 glowing eyes watching you the whole time. Lastly @4:49 as u look down the hallway see "on" the open door to left a green-glow reflection a second later @4:50 as you start turning your camera see down the hall left side a strip of green glow illumination from ceiling to floor +plus the door to ur right towards the middle/lower portion of door the same green-glow orb shape = these are all entities. This area and the basement were the most active, there was a lot going on in the upstairs bathroom also. Man!!! Awesome video-thanks David!!!

some of it could but the newest edition on the right if looking at it outside was in non fixable shape

Great revisit geat decay, and i guess there was sombody on the attic? according too the sounds. By the looks off the cellar that place was very moist, was the dead animal smell the worst there?

as soon as i entered the second floor was the worst. Got my blood pumping. Do not want to find a dead body as then I will have to get police involved.

What a wonderful old home. Too bad these developers are such D bags and let these historic places go to rot rather then restore them. That house was made to last unlike something they would build. Love the way the different levels are in the house and makes me wonder if the one area was a servant's quarters??? Love the deep set window sills in these old homes. Beautiful, beautiful and such a shame to see it go away. There was a log home near to where I grew up that was from the very first settlers in this area. It was still in tact because the last descendent a school teacher had actually lived there until the 1970's. the family graveyard was also still there and miles of rock walls along the original road. It had stood for several hundred years until a developer bought it and all of a sudden the log home was burned to the ground. That was their way of keeping anyone from wanting to preserve it because of it's historic value. Can you say ass holes? Great video btw!

Thanks Deborah. If you look at the drone video in this video, you will see a smaller house right next to it. That is where the servants stayed.
