Arsenal have been linked with several strikers ahead of the summer transfer window, but they have changed their strategy over the position.
It was previously mooted that Arsenal would look for a striker who could come in and immediately start scoring, with Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen the two most strongly linked targets.
However, Arsenal’s free-scoring form since February, which has seen Kai Havertz thrive as a striker, means there is less urgency to bring in a big name, and the club may now target younger options.
Whilst a move for Osimhen cannot be ruled out, it appears that Arsenal have moved away from Toney, and Fabrizio Romano has now named two targets possibly above Osimhen in the pecking order.

Speaking on his KZfaq channel, Romano confirmed that Sporting Club De Portugal striker Viktor Gyokeres, and RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko, are the attackers Arsenal are prioritising over Osimhen.
“I’m always receiving many questions on Victor Osimhen, many clubs around Europe appreciate him, like Chelsea, PSG, also Arsenal - but Arsenal are focused on players like Gyökeres or Sesko - Sesko is also on the list at Chelsea,” he stated.
Sesko has scored 11 goals for Leipzig this season, in 35 games across all competitions, but the 20-year-old is being eyed up for his vast potential.
His combination of height, speed and powerful finishing means his ceiling is high, and he impressed in the Champions League against Real Madrid in the round of 16.
The Slovenian has a £43m release clause, potentially making him an excellent value long-term signing.
Gyokeres has been outstanding for Sporting, and is the highest-scoring player in European football with 36 goals and 15 assists in 41 games.
The former Coventry striker is older than Osimhen at 25, but may have a favourable injury record and transfer fee, and Mikel Arteta may see him as the quality finisher and all-round forward to complete his side.
Either striker could come in and be given time to settle, rather than being expected to deliver immediately, and after an adaptation period, they may have the potential to be the world-class finisher to take Arsenal’s attack up another level.
