If hilux could come to the usa most of the companies that are making trucks would loses in the market .

Hilux would dominate over all the Pickup Trucks in America. Hilux in America companies that make pickup trucks would lose in the market it's their loss not Toyota.

@@lexusdriver1963 I feel like if it came to America it would grow substantially in size and after the first model it would probably be a '90s full-size pickup. America unfortunately has an association with size and value and since we're strong buyers in the market, we kind of dictate the direction the market goes. I kind of sucks but we kind of ruin things with our lust of size and convenience and not engagement.

@@jinxtacyI haul mostly new fords in the US and almost every dealership i deliver to has more f150 trucks than they know what to do with but 99% of the Maverick and Rangers I hail are already sold when I pick them up from the rail yards

Not really. The tacoma already dominates the mid sized market, theres no reason people would buy the hilux over the tacoma in the US. Most US brands make their money off half tons and super duty trucks which the hilux is not a replacement for.@@lexusdriver1963

Watched entire video…chicken tax is discussed. An even bigger question is “WHY” ????? Isn’t the Hi-Lux sold in “CANADA” ??? Canada should not give any allegiance to the discriminatory United States chicken tax !!! Are there any Canadians who could chime in on this subject ???

I want a Hilux. I don't want a Tacoma or a Ranger. They're too big. They're not small sized trucks, they're massive cabs with these tiny beds. I just want a small truck to haul my quad and maybe a teardrop trailer. I don't want a massive pavement princess that's the size of a bus.

Toyota has 8 manufacturing plants in the US. Would be no problem for Toyota to start making the Hilux here.

AFAIK, It would be impossible to import a HiLux into the US. To import a car that doesn't conform to US safety standards, it has to be 25 years old. Even if you sent it over as parts, I doubt you'd be able to register it because of its VIN number. Shame though as I find the Taco to be a bloated mid size truck. Like most things over here, bigger looks better.

They did us to sell the Hilux in America then I think in the early 2000s they split it of as a Tacoma an American Hilux if I was in America I'd be more than happy with a Tacoma it's probably a better vehicle

Hey! How about buying a foreign sold late model Hilux then cut the frame behind the cab and import it in separate shipments as salvage? Weld it back together! Could I get it titled in the US?
