I remembered that from the Olympics about the Japanese fans picking up trash, making origami for the staff and players and even left in an orderly fashion. I posted that on IG because I believe that good people should be recognized and rewarded. Japanese people have something many Westerners will never have, discipline. It is a word we don;t often use, especially in Mexican society and culture but many Mexicans respect the Japanese and their way of living, sometimes for the sushi hahaha. It was a nice stadium but sadly only it was hall full.

US has the population and resources to be great at soccer but nobody cared about the sport until maybe 15-20 years ago and most still don't. But nowadays there is an entire youth to pro development system in place built out by the MLS. And more kids wanting to pursue soccer instead of the more popular sports. And this is why the USA talent pool keeps getting stronger while Mexico's talent has been static for decades.

my dad has been a fan of the usmnt since the 90s, and has watched this team grow for ages. in the process, he made my sister and i huge fans as well. his entire life, he’s never been able to see them lift a trophy in person. so, for him, my sister, and i to be able to go to this game in person was incredible. the look on his face during the trophy presentation was priceless. and a little dos a cero on top too ☺️ i was also able to get my dempsey jersey signed by clint himself, so that’s pretty cool!!

I went to World Cup US vs Columbia game in '94 when they upset Columbia. After the game, there was only around a hundred US fans cheering the win. The US fan base was near non-existent. Boy oh boy has the US team and fan base come a long way. MLS started two years after that game (I've been a Galaxy fan from literally day one), and one of the biggest highlights was when the US beat MX in the 2002 World Cup. The US team today is eons better than they were in 1994 and will only get better. I'm 55 years old now and I only hope to live long enough to see the US win a World Cup. Cheers! 🇺🇸
