How to defend or counter the right body kick when In long guard?

I'd assume maybe catch kick or duck since all of your unobstructed view is his legs. I dont do muay thai, however, and just started kickboxing.

I think a Dutch block plays well here. Then you can go right back to long guard and throwing hands. It's always dependent though, on your style and on the fight context

As other replies have said you can check catch or use any other of your defense tools but my answer would be in reality when using the long guard you generally crash into range as you use it meaning you should be stuffing any kicks coming in

In the first Part his shoulder were down and his chin unprotected ( more openings)in the second Part He has tighten up his shoulders to his chin. Anyway its for superbons style a good guard because he can keep his opponent in kicking range by Pressing him. But I dont like this guard using too much like superbon it limits youre eyesight too much and someone with a good boxerfoot work will come by different angles and you dont really See were the punches are coming from. Its a technique but know the weaknesses to utilize it to your style.

@@internationalgmbh8153 There are world class boxers who use similar guard. Mayweather for example. I think it's probably an essential tool to have. I haven't figured out the ideal mental trigger to move from short to long guard though, perhaps when moving backwards.
