This is really interesting. I love the royal family trees, but I'd like to see more family trees of "regular" ppl like this.

So, I was watching this because I am a big fan of The Rock, when the name Dembo Sickles came up. I've been working on my family genealogy for a while, and the name Dembo Sickles isn't one you hear often, but I have one in my family tree. Sure enough, it turns out that Rocky Johnson is a distant cousin, meaning I'm distantly related to Dwayne!

For wrestling fans, there is a lot of folklore here. The connections between the families are rich and deep indeed.

It's obviously not a family tree, but I think a video about the line of succession of Pope's would be very interesting. Given all the anti-popes and avignon popes Im guessing it would be quite complicated

So not only is the Rock Canadian on his paternal side but his last name comes from a completely unrelated boxer his dad wanted to honor. Also love the detail of Maui being modeled after his material grandfather.

Maui is actually a Polynesian mythological character as he also appears in Maori legend here in NZ

Imagine doing a DNA test only to discover that The Rock is your half brother.

You left out Rodney "Yokozuna" Anoa'i, He was a very popular WWE wrestler in the 90's and was Champion.

While I know nothing about the Samoan "blood relative" tradition outside of this video, I loved how you treated those with such a relation with the same respect as those who have a genetic relation, and thinking about that makes me think it would be nice if you made a future video exploring other traditions from around the world involving adopting (etc) other people who aren't genetically related as family members and how such a system might differ from our typical Western understanding of family trees and the legal/social consequences that these traditions have.

One slight correction, the Bloodline is considered a Faction, which means a group of wrestlers joined for a common cause, usually to help the leader cheat lol. The Uso’s are a tag team in the faction.

Dwayne Johnson pays so much homage to his Samoan side. I wish he would take such interest in his Black Nova Scotian heritage. I would dare say it may be more interesting as there are far fewer.

Even more interesting: The tag team that Rocky Johnson & Tony Atlas defeated to become the then-WWF’s first Black champions was none other than The Wild Samoans.

This made me realize how much I want a new version of your big world history chart poster with the history of Oceania!

I'm curious about the family tree of John Adams to whom I'm a distant cousin of. In a People Profiles stream I saw on John Adams they claimed that John's ancestor, Henry Adams, and mine as well came from a place in England called Braintree, thus the name of the place where they settled in Massachusetts, but a book published about my family history line claims that Henry came from Barton-St. David in Somerset. I was hoping that if you did this family tree that maybe you could clear this fact up.

Hey Matt I took my 23&Me and got my results and it shows that I have some Ashkenazi Jewish relatives from some generations past. My other full blood sister didn’t seem to receive it in hers nor my half sister who shares the same dad as us. I know genetics aren’t all the same 50-50 we get from each parents. Just thought it was wild and wanted to share.

I've often been interested in Samoan people, especially those in college football. I worked with a Samoan gentleman in Southern California and became familiarized with their culture.

I don't know if you've done it before, but the Hawaiian royal family would be interesting.

Considering the popularity of Taylor Swift right now, It'd be interesting to see her family tree. Though it may be too invasive to do that as I don't think many of her relatives are famous/have a lot of notoriety like she does. Perhaps a ridiculous tree connecting other people notable in her life like exes, famous friends etc and how they connect to each other could be interesting as well without getting too personal.

As a kid growing up in Hawaii I saw the Rock’s dad wrestle more than a few times.

This is kind of accurate. It's been confirmed by one of the Fatu’s that The Rocks grandmother is part of the Anao’i family by blood.

I enjoyed watching this about "the Rock." He has a pretty interesting family tree. About 4 or 5 years ago, I found out that my deceased grandmother was possibly a 4th and 5th cousin to Alan Jackson (the country singer). This is due to the Newman's and Musick's marrying back into each other's families. Also, the Newman's marrying into the Dewberries is how I believe I descend from the Colbert chiefs (who were the sons and grandsons of James Logan Colbert). At least, that's what I believe to be true, at this point. But anyway, I would like to see a segment about Alan Jackson's family tree, if that's possible. I think, I might learn things that I do not know. I'm not a huge fan, nor do I know a lot about him. But I do like his music that I've heard through the years on the radio. And I would find his life and various branches of his family tree interesting.
