One of my fav FL....she is sexy and elegant.

It is unsafe to do so anyway. As a young girl, I recall a friend of the family did something like this, and it killed him, sad to say.

It’s hard to imagine because you probably weren’t abused while your brain was developing in childhood. Brains like mine release love chemicals for toxic shame instead of healthy love. I grew up being shamed, criticized and narcissistically abused. It’s what I know and people like me are programmed for self hate and self harm so we think “this is all I deserve” “no one else will want me”…maybe you can understand a little bit. We didn’t ask to be raised and treated this way and we had no control over how our brains developed. I think we’ve been shamed enough in our lives and certainly don’t deserve more from people that don’t understand how anyone could date an abusive person. Luckily for me, these toxic love dramas fill a void in my chemically messed up brain so I don’t go out and date another abusive man that manipulates and uses me.

I've seen people from healthy homes stay with abusive partners, and I've seen people from abusive homes stay far away from abusive partners. I can only say growing up in an abusive home can make people comfortable in abusive relationships, but it can also make you sensitive to the signs and traits of an abusive relationship long before it goes too far & avoid them (though it usually takes the person realising that their abusive home is not right and wanting something better in their own relationships so they don't end up like their parents).

This disregards the wolf in sheep clothing that has presented itself. When a predator is after you there is nothing, absolutely nothing good or bad upbringing can do to protect you. Some backgrounds yes make it easier for these predators to prey. Maybe the background might make you stronger to fight or run quickly. An interesting one recently was Nxivm, the cultlike organisation. The women who got fooled come from varied strong backgrounds but still fell victim to the cult.
