Shiyi tries to prevent another family problem. In this situation, the GM strikes me, she point-blank does not see the problems that are brewing in the family of her youngest son. She does not see the state of her pregnant daughter-in-law, whom she cares about so much. It's funny, but the youngest woman in the family sees and understands more than her matriarch. What the GM does at all is her job to advise young people. But she seems to be more concerned about what other nasty things to come up with for Shiyi than real problems. Shiyi is generally a guardian angel not only of the Xu family, but also of her sisters. Now she is trying to figure out how to solve Wu-nyan's problems. Shiyi finally matured. She shares her problems with her husband. In general, she is a fox, does not abuse her status, but does not forget to compliment her husband. Lingyi cannot live without his Shiyi. She brought to the surface everything that was hidden deep inside. There is so much unspent tenderness and care in him, which now rushes to Shiyi like a waterfall. Helping her sister is such a small thing. Especially since Shiyi does not demand anything, just shares her problems (she learns to rely on him). What I really like about this film is that love is shown without affectation and pathos. Little things tell a lot more than passionate scenes and big words. A gentle touch with her fingertip on her neck, she rested her head on his shoulder, hand in hand - this is not uttered by them "I love you", soaring in the air.

@@Irynash11 the GM has proven a long time ago that she's an idiot. Her focus is always on the wrong thing. She never sees what's right in front of her. She spent all her time trying to get Lingyi to fall in love with Lianfang that she ignored the obvious..."He wasn't interested in her". She tried to control every aspect of the Xu family but ignored the real problems. She didn't see the problems in Lingkuan's marriage because she was too busy trying to control Shiyi. She didn't see Danyang's pain because she was too busy fuming over the fact that Lingyi was supporting his wife's decision to work outside of the home. Her focus has never been her family...it's always been Shiyi/what she believes she's doing wrong. She easily dismissed all the contributions that Shiyi has made to the family. She should've stepped down from being the matriarch a long time ago. Shiyi is a better matriarch hands down. She puts the needs of the family above her own personal agenda. She cares about their welfare/what they want. She sees things objectively/doesn't try to force her will onto them. She's a protector. She tries to solve problems before they escalate. She's the MVP of the Xu family. Now she's openly communicating with her husband about her concerns. She's asking for his advice to solve Wuiang's problems. She's grown so much. I agree. The little gestures/acts of love shown in this drama are very poignant. The subtle touches and resting head speaks volumes. It fully shows the deep love and respect they have for each other. These moments are so intimate and it screams "I LOVE YOU".

@@shontelagrone8713 Shiyi is the best thing that could happen to the Xu family. She is not the nominal matron of the family, but the real one. Unlike GM and Yuanyang who only care about fictional and illusory privileges, Shiyi always cares about people. Shiyi knows better than anyone what is bothering all family members. No wonder she Lingyi she said that she likes his family. Some were outraged, but I think she was talking about his brother and daughters-in-law. They are really good, the younger ones have already been “re-educated”. Yizhen always supported her, and Shiyi always worried about the children the most. Shiyi and Lingyi are a great team, she takes care of his family, he takes care of her. You are right, she has changed a lot, shares her problems, asks for advice. @@Irynash11 I agree. Shiyi was the best thing to ever happen to the Xu family. She was everything that Lingyi wanted and needed by his side. You're right she cared about people. She didn't focus on social climbing or status...it was always about the family. She cared about them. She cared about what they wanted...unlike the GM. She changed their lives for the better. Yizhen finally let go of the past. She became a mom again. Lingkuan/Danyang had a stronger relationship because of her. She helped save their marriage. She even saved their unborn child. She's the MVP of the Xu family. I'm with you...I love how they show their love for each other. I think it's more significant than uttering the words. You're right Lianfang used those words so many times that it lost its meaning especially since she didn't really know what those words meant. Her version of love was all about control. It was selfish. She didn't care what he wanted...her love only focused on herself. It was an obsession for her. Shiyi's love for Lingyi is shown in deeds. She puts his needs ahead of anything else. She takes on his burdens/she's there for his family. She does everything in her power to make things easier for him. Her love for him is selfless.

To be fair one of the sisters brought misfortune on herself. She was married off when she seduced a guy and claimed to be Shiyi to force Shiyi into the terrible match. Im not overly sympathetic to her plight
