Music superstar Usher and IBM are banding together to provide free AI training to high school and college-age youth from communities traditionally underrepresented in technology. Usher's New Look nonprofit and IBM SkillsBuild are collaborating on the initiative to equip the students with a fundamental understanding of AI and how this technology will shape the workforce of the future, according to Lydia Logan, vice president of global education and workforce development for IBM.
WorkingNation sat down with Logan at SXSW EDU 2024 in Austin to discuss the announcement.
Logan says, “They need to learn everything from what is it, how it intersects with cybersecurity? They need to understand what large language models are, what generative AI is, and all of the things that help them apply that technology to what they're doing.”
