Good morning, Many thanks for the new laser functions, it’s great work, well done! I love UGS, it’s my work interface which is the richest. It would be interesting to create a macro for changing tools. I use ESTLCAM to create relief engravings which generates a GCODE inculcating a pause for changing tools. The problem is that changing the tool is difficult because the space between the part and the tool remains small! it would be interesting to move the XYZ axes and return to the previous working position.😀

Thanks for the feedback. Many people have requested the ability to do tool changes and it is starting to get high on the todo list.

@@joacimbreiler Changing tools is a good idea! Note when the pause is included in the GCODE the XYZ movements are recorded... My idea is to include a movement of the XYZ axes before the MO to change the tool easily. Afterwards, you must return to the initial position of the finishing tool by pressing start, the GCODE returns to the initial position of the tool XYZ=0. I will try to modify the GCODE to test the tool change.

It is cool right? =) The features in UGS are of course very limited compared to softwares such as Lightburn. But after my hard drive crash on the computer that I used for Lightburn, I didn't want to spend another 60 USD for a new license. UGS will now suit my needs and maybe be usable for others.

That is wonderful! I have a question: Does USG change to Lasermode and back? This means the laser will not fire during a G0 command. If it is also used with a CNC-router what will happen? I decided not to use another application yet because it constantly changes this value and would use up my EEPROM write cycles in my machine? How does it work with USG ?

No, UGS will not change the controller to Laser mode. UGS will never change the configuration of the machine if not explicitly instructed to from the user

We can't support the 32-bit Windows version anymore as libraries we are using has dropped support for it. To use UGS on Windows you need a 64-bit system.
