Using a Tree Jack, a Spring Board, a Block Face, and the Two Tape gunning method.

A Tree Jack to lift it, A Spring Board to stand on a get at the low side, A Block Face for better accuracy, and the (Two Log Tape Method) in order to site the Block Face in more accurately. It may be helpful to check out the other video I did on the Two Log Tape method if you would like a more detailed description of this method.

Thanks! Yes....it works on any tree really...but its not really needed in the small to medium range timber

What a mess. Not you or the job. The terrain. That's a rough environment to work, especially with all the fallen trees, limbs, and everything else around. Nice job. Enjoy the cooling weather.

Well taken care of, Dan. All the more sketchy having to fall it directly up hill like that. How tall and old was it roughly? And what jack were you using? 🤙

It was a second growth Redwood ( so maybe 80 years old) The second growth can get really big around here. It was about 200 feet tall, and the Tree Jack was the Bonatragger Tree Jack...I just bought it this last summer( great Jack!

I suppose it could...but its difficult to film everything like that. I can probably work at getting more still shots...in certain situations
