Today I use CRC's Intake Valve and Turbo Cleaner to clean out the carbon buildup in my 10th gen Honda Civic Si.
These GDI motors build up a lot of carbon over time, and especially with almost 92k miles. It's good maintenence to clean out the carbon build up every once in a while, so I decided to give it a shot! I'm very pleased with it, as you'll see in this video😄
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tune in to see a time attack build in progress...it would be really appreciated🙏🙏🙏
I am here to inspire others and motivate people to go for there dreams even if you have nothing. I am currently chasing my dreams of tracking a car and I couldnt have a better partner than Luna the Si. Thank you for your support, it is greatly appreciated😁😁

Its going to be way more action packed than the last time. Theres 11 cars in my class alone.. last time there was 4 cars in total, so there weren't any classes. Its going to be alot different than the last track day, and with hotter temperatures, but i'm gonna drive her harder this time and definitely set a faster time. Enough spoiling, you'll have to wait ;)

I’d also recommend adding Ceratec to the oil! It’s big in the 5.0 community and I added it to my Si for kicks. Running 5w-30 and Ceratec and noticed a HUGE improvement in how the motor runs. The little 1.5 runs way smoother and less noisy. Try it out!

Ceratec is awesome though if you use the molygen oil liqui moly, it says ceratec isn't necessary. As it basically has it in it already

@@jesseperrella check your throttle body too. I bet it's covered in gunk. If you haven't used the MAF cleaner yet try it. I typically do it 3-5x a year. It's super safe and simple to do. Plus you live where it will dry quickly. Just hose the MAF sensor itself down and let it fully dry. I'm sure crc has videos on KZfaq showing how to use it, or other people using it.

Liqui moly also makes a additive to go in fuel thats specifically for direct injection i hear good things about. All their products have been great so i assume it is too. I have it coming going to use in my 10th gen hatch. Also do clean your maf sensor at least once or twice a year..especially if you push the car alot

wont make a difference for the valves tho, the injectors dont spray fuel onto the valves in these engines

Is my understanding that Honda DI setup doesn't suffer from the carbon build up issues like other brands. In fact you don't see a trend in social or forums honda places about people having problem with it. Just remove spark plugs and see with a specialized camera if there is build up and then check later if this treatment did anything.

@@jesseperrella I've done the method you've shown here twice on my 10th gen civic and both times I didnt have good results. Where you spayred the crc it has to travel through several feet of piping, a compressor side of turbo and intercooler just to get to the intake manifold only then finally hitting the back of the valves which is the whole purpose of spraying the crc in the first place. You need to bypass all that unnecessary travel by spraying directly into the manifold via brake booster port keeping the crc atomized. In my case after both attemps of trying the method you've shown, after letting the crc heat soak and taking it for a drive my engine was bogging so bad it would stall and I barely made it home. Once back had to take my stock intake apart to drain most of the crc that had pooled blocking the air flow and never even making through my engine just wasted crc. Would be cool if you make new video with brake booster method so people know how to properly do it and not waste the crc on their 10th gen 👍

@@EasySceeen I'm not sure honestly as to why you had that problem, where for me it worked fine. Some variable isn't right between how we both did it. I can make a video on how to do it through the brake booster line in the future though once I do it again.

@@jesseperrella oh, I was made to understand that it's not the spray at all, but all the petroleum residue and carbon burning off that smokes. I can't get any of it to work on my FK8, but on our other civics, I've used seafoam, CRC, and the STP kit with the timer, and they all smoked.

That knock your getting is spark knock due to carbon breaking off the valves. Completely normal. but you are supposed to drive the balls out of it after cleaning to get all the nasty out. My car did the exact same thing. cleared up after some hard pulls. gonna do it again after winter is over with an oil change right after.

@Jesse Perrella I couldn't tell from your video but if you don't have one get a catch can on the pcv side to catch the nasty oil particulates under hard acceleration and short drives. Prevents future carbon build up and power loss. Add w1 has good ones for 185$. Got one on my 2.5 tgdi turbo car.
