Tom continuing to play Holocure is always fun, the outside perspective on vtuber lore gives it a unique flavor compared to the other Survivor games he does.

Tom!! If you go into the Shop, there are a TON of new permanent single box upgrades like Enchant & Stamp that make a big difference in the long run, and open up the new mechanics. The Achievements will show how to unlock all possible items & weapons, and the game also supports mouse aiming now. Sana has synergy with one of my favourite new collabs in the update that I think you'd like - "EN's Curse" + "Spider Cooking" = *"Eldritch Horror"* You can enchant both weapons with "Size +15%" BEFORE you Collab, and it gives you the Size +15% twice. Then with the Item "Knightly Milk" (20%) or "Super Knightly Milk" (30%), that all stacks with Sana's Skill "Speaker of Space" (30%) and it becomes a life-stealing black hole that _literally_ covers the entire screen.

It's always such an interesting experience to see how someone parses all of these references when they don't know the source material. I almost don't want Tom to ever get context because the guesses are always good

I love watching this and being just as confused as Tom about the rich lore.

Hey Tom! In case you end up reading this, to clear up the tiniest bit of lore: All the spider related stuff is because Akai Haato (Haachama) once ate a tarantula in ramen(?) some years back for one of her "cooking" videos. Since then, it's become a big meme with her and her community.

This game nearly has the same amount of content as Vampire Survivors. Possibly more since every character is unique.

okay, thats it, im gonna hit the bell, otherwise youtube is really not good at suggesting me toms videos. i actually wondered the other day if he'd pick holocure up again with the update, but got busy and forgot to check the channel. very glad to see more, its super fun watching someone play who has no clue about the source, but is kinda down with it and pretty decent at the game to boot!

Hey Tom, you should check out the upgrades menu. It has a couple of new upgrades that include a new sticker system that gives buffs to your main weapon, and random enchantments for regular weapons. They're pretty neat and can add a new layer to your builds. :) As for the references, there's many new ones but I'll stick to the ones you ask about: 4:25 -- That's Chungus, a representation of Kiryu Coco's (foreign) fans. She's also the inspiration for the Asacoco weapons in the game. 5:11 -- Spider Haaton, a variation of Akai Haato/Haachama's fans (the yellow pigs), who is known for cooking with spiders. 7:05 -- Kapumin, little vampire ghosts, which are Yozora Mel's fans. 10:40 -- Shubangelion, based on a statue of an Evangelion crossed with a duck that Oozora Subaru built in Minecraft. 11:24 -- Choco mates, who are fans of Yuzuki Choco. She's also the source of the Nurse's Horns. 12:22 -- Chocolat-chan, Choco's familiar/mascot. 12:40 -- Subarudo Duck, representations of Subaru's fans and herself. Her duck theme stems from an ASMR stream early in her career where a segment eerily resembled Donald Duck having a swim. 13:02 -- Not too sure about these, but their maid-ish look gives me the impression they're related to Minato Aqua. 18:50 -- Spiderchama/Taranchama, Haachama's final form after too much spider cooking. Nanashi Mumei designed it during one of her cursed drawing streams.

2 tips 1 go to the shop and buy the new upgrades like stickers 2) there is a collab lift in the pause menu to check what you can combine it does not show ones you have not done yet

That astrology skill really saved tom several times. Speed boosts when surrounded or in the duck man's aoe, and then the healing when he got low. He got very lucky

All I can think about when it comes to Holocure is the vid with Morbious interview, espeicially with the MUSCLE achievement popping up

It's a testament to the quality of the game that regardless of your knowledge surrounding hololive it's still throughly enjoyable

a couple of things in the shop that you might wanna check out

In 1 or 2 days it will have a big update and be released on steam for free. They basically added a stardew valley mode with minigames where all the unlocked characters hang out.

Editor got me again with the big mode switch. Doing good work, mate.

A lot of people already mentioned all the new stuff so I'll just add that in general whenever there's a new update you can see what's new in the changelog in the game files

it's really cool that a fangame passion project is good enough to stand on its own even for someone unfamiliar with the original media. It also makes this series a bizarre semi-crossover.

I love that you're still going for this game its super cute and though similar to the others like it somethign about it seems very different than the others. Idk maybe its the super cute anime girls or the way the attacks are designed but this is def my favorite one of this genre that you're playing

one strat that seens to work is aways get the main weapon up and them go for collabs,cause some main weapons are really good single target,other are good for aoe, and the collabs are equal in power to them but you can get a aoe collab for a single target hero also is very amazing that you defeated hachamachama first try,cant wait for you doin collab with koe or someone into vtubing guiding you down the rabbit hole

This is just a good game regardless of branding. I barely follow hololive anymore, and a lot of the references are lost on me regarding the Japanese members, but the game is just solid. I play a run every now and then.

I wish Holocure had a Mac port. I enjoy watching these but for the love of all that is holo-pure, please complete upgrading a weapon before bouncing around to another. I feel like my holo-heart is collapsing when I see you go 2 or 3 deep into something only to change direction twice before eventually saying "I should max out this".
