These tutorials are excellent, thank you! I really like how clearly the instructions are given, with plenty of pauses. Dummies like me need this! LOL I think Renoise is fantastic, I'm really just starting out with it at the moment, but hoping to do amazing things with it in the future. Cheers guys.

Great overview. I really liked the section covering the Aliases. Couple of quick questions for you. You said some plug-ins don't work with aliases and I'm curious now about this. 1. If a plug-in supports multiple audio outputs and accepts multiple MIDI inputs is it generally compatible with VST alias feature in Renoise? 2. Do plug-ins that do not support multiple audio outs or have multiple MIDI inputs work with this alias feature as well? I can see why I would want to do this to isolate tracks for individual parts of the same non-multi-timbral/output instrument for example. Thank you for your great videos, I really appreciate the work you put into these.

Sorry, I should've been clearer and said, 'Not all instruments can make use of Plugin aliasing in this way'. You can alias any Plugin, but it won't be useful in the way it's shown here unless it supports multiple outputs.

So, automation is not working on the VST alias? I work wih Virus Ti, and can automate filter for.ex just on first instance of VST using Ins.Automation effect but this effect is not working on aliases. What do I do wrong?

All of the parameters for the entire device are made available at once in the Instr. Automation Device and they don't vary per alias. Any parameter changes (except for Volume & Transpose plugin properties) will affect all the aliases since they're just references to the original VST. What's probably happening in your case is that there are multiple versions of a parameter, one for each different channel, so you need to find and automate those that affect the sounds assigned in an alias.

Yes. Serum is a Plugin that can be used as VST or AU.

Is that the only way to see the notes? No piano roll or something?

That's correct, Renoise uses a modern version of the tracker interface, directly inspired by the likes of ProTracker & FastTracker. tutorials.renoise.com/wiki/Tracker_Interface

I have installed Zebra in the vst file like shown in the video but Renoise can't seem to find it, but he is recognizing others vst I've put there. I tried to reboot, or uninstall/reinstall but nothing seem to work. Can somebody help ? Thanks
