Not sure why I didn't comment months ago but THANK YOU. I actually DJ'd wedding where the bride also wanted me to do the music for the ceremony. Using your insightful tip I put the songs in a sample bank and played the corresponding music to each section of the processional (parents, flower girls, bridal party, ring bearer, bride). Thanks again. The DDJ-SX ROCKS!!!!!!

Great job bro..I have an SX2 and I never used that functionality, you have made my life easier, I DJ 60 weddings a year...

I normally run a separate crate for an important event, then make subcrates for all that, including “must plays”. I utilize my sampler for horns, drops, sounds, and a 100BPM beat i made to transition at times in/out of mic announcements.

Solid use of the sampler,gives you time to be creative with options for effects and other loop and cut creations.

Right. I was just going over the basics on one side. But yeah 24 samples at one time is pretty cool! You can sync samples to players and adjust BPM and some other cool functions in the other screen...

I like DJ the same amount as I like Scratch Live. The bonus with Scratch Live is more effects, but the features of DJ are more than enough for what I do!!!!

I would move loops to the banks you want, you can set a sample to loop or stop or play through, but you would have to cue mark the spots with in the sample. Not sure on it so I'll take a look and see what is involved and if possible.

It's because those are the option pads, the SX allows for 24 samples, 4 banks of 6 samples each.

You can get 4 banks actually. Above the banks are A B C D each one is a bank.

The other deck also has two sampler decks. So you actually have sample decks A,B,C, and D.

No I haven't, but I know the microphone can be a bit of an issue for some. I'll do a video.

No Brian it won't automix through. You can record a set ahead of time, and once upodated the software should have continuos play but no automix feature like VDJ or Mixmeister.

You can have samples loaded, AUDIO, and fire them while using Video but the Video plug-in is what you will see on the screen soi you won't see the actual sample only hear them.

I haven't had any issues with my MBP. I haven't heard of problems with Apple, I know that Serato doesn't always like AMD chipsets but IOS works great!

Sorry to contradict you but there are 12 are four band sampler sampler, each with 6 sampler, which together form 24

Many thanks, do you think you can do a really in depth tute on the sampler? Im having trouble saving and playing a particular loop or part of the track.Also having trouble with clean sync.Serato havn't bothered yet in their tutes so your may be one of the first.

I suppose you could either use the samples or midi map them to trigger a kit..

to stop the sample you have to hold shift, and press the pad you want stopped... but as far as going from bank A to B... thats my problem as well...

I'll do a video on what to do, but first load the sample and then you would save the loop point to it so you can call it up again

i feel really good now after watching this vid i have the ns6 and i have been having issue after issue went through 3 controllers in the last mnth and guitar center is going to let me trade them in for the pioneer ddj sx so looks like it will be a good move lol.

What I ended up doing was making a crate with all the intro songs, and placed 3 on 3 different channels and had a beat going on the 4th Channel...but i can tell you that it wasn't easy. So basically, is there an easier way to do that?

Also, when you engage the samples when hitting the sample pad, how do you make the sample (whether its a full song or just a sample drop, beat matched with the song playing on one of the channels like 1 or 2? for instance, if I have an acapella sample drop playing with a house beat playing on channel 1, how do I make sure the acapella sample drop is beat matched with the song playing on the channel? is there a sync botton for the samples?

I thought the Pioneer DDJSX didnt work well or wasnt recommneded for use with Apple computers is that a myth?
