Hello! I think there are too many variables to be considered there, as there are many carribbean schools and also many indian schools. So top notch carribean school would be better than random indian medical school, and vice versa. I came from indonesian medical school which has completely different curriculum than US( i never heard about SCID and ADA deficiency before I start studying USMLE and that is after I graduated), I still manage to get high score in USMLE even though I only have average grades during my med school. Therefore, the right question to ask would be "how do I study and learn correctly". If you want to really invest on your learning skills, i would recommend to learn from Dr Justin Sung. However, his method requires you 1/2 year( or more) to learn. I do think its a best fit for someone who are just starting college/med school. Good luck!

Hi doctor. I have completed my MD in medicine and DM in hematology in India. I want to apply for a fellowship residency in the US. Do I need a match program application in general or do I need to contact the institution directly for the fellowship after the ecfmg certification?. Thanks

You need to match into a fellowship for which you need to write USMLE

Hiya! Can you clarify if Step 3 solely helps in securing a H1B visa compared to J1 visa? And if the deadline for applications is Spet 29, then does it help if we take the exam after it and let programs know we're scheduled to appear for the exam before March, in the following year? Thanks!

It's recommended to take it before December 31 so that you have results in time to send to the programs before they make their rank order lists (in Feb). This will uplevel you in their rank order list and help you secure a h1b visa.
