Make sure you do a video update of how you like the job, the hours and what they have you do because the ppl here on KZfaq does discourage you & they make a lot of us not want to apply

So true. It's all up to the individual. I know a few people who work for the USPS and absolutely love it because it is a full benefit career. So long as a person is willing to work hard and not be so uptight about being told what to do or checked up on all the time, it is all good. They are able to weed out the low hanging fruit by self removal (quitting) and the long term employees shall be rewarded with the obvious.

I plan too and feel the same way about others videos. Some have a very negative vibe, but we also don’t know their whole story of what happened. We are only hearing their thoughts and opinions. So you have to take some things with a grain of salt. Another thing to think about is everyone is working at different facilities in a small city to places like LA or Chicago. It’s going to a different experience for those workers. I’m in a small city with a population of only 35K people. But I live in Montana also and will have to deal with delivering in the snow and ice on walk ways. Others won’t have to deal with that. But I will provide as much detail as I can with my experiences too.

Waiting for mine to they said I start dec 18 as well did my fingerprint n background spoke to the postmaster he said be on the look out for the email n text so I’m just waiting

i did my fingerprints on 09/07/2021. i recently saw that they put the position i applied for back up, i reapplied just to see if i can get any info back. I tried talking to a postmaster and he wasn't able to get any info to me, he told me to contact HR in the main office. I did, it' impossible to get a hold of anyone. It's a frustrating process lol. Just hope to hear something back by december

Sounds like your just waiting on your background check to clear. They will post other jobs even after you apply for yours and if you did your fingerprints then you have already accepted that job offer. My site has posted other RCA & CCA positions after mine also. Your HR contact would be that person you scheduled to do your fingerprints with. They told me background checks were taking up to 6-8 weeks. But also depends on how acutely you provide your information. Everyone will be different.

Hello! Did my fingerprints on 10/13/21 it is now 1/11/22. Has said offer phase EXT forever and I can’t get ahold of anyone via email or phone! I thoroughly filled out the background information in October but just now noticed on my profile there was no work history. I just added it so it says complete now. I’m so confused why this is taking so long. Any ideas?

ive been a CCA for a month...I actually go to Academy starting Monday...ive been delivering mail this whole time ( which is against the rules) but they dont care...its the hardest job ive ever done and ive worked in warehouses and contruction..even HVAC. expect to walk 15 miles a day...while holding mail,magazines and packages...its a lot. The worse part to me is always rushing to make time. ive been chewed out a few times already, one was a confusing cluster box and I couldnt figure it out so brought the mail back. the SUP chewed me a new one...again, It was my first time on the route and was confused... expect to be yelled at, lost and rushed every day until you figure it out. I say every week im just going to quit but I force myself to push through. Its not for the weak. If money wasnt an issue I would have quit for sure. goodluck to you sir and every new CCA. the holiday rush is happening .......god help us all!!!

Ya my facility was questioning about having me deliver packages( not mail) on Veterans Day. But because I hadn’t completed LLV training yet. HR lady said no! Then completed my LLV training this past Friday, working yesterday or Monday didn’t happen since some of our trucks are going through maintenance right now, so no extra trucks for me to drive to deliver packages. So I start my CCA Academy training on Tuesday in Missoula. 😁👍🏻

@@cognitivedissonance7362 criminal background check to start date was about 4 weeks. But remember this was during holiday season and recruiting was overwhelmed. Things are different now.

They told me 6-8 weeks, but mine only took 3 weeks, then 3-4 days after that for my orientation date email. But every facility is different.

So how long did it take from submitting your background info, to getting the phone call/ email for orientation?

About 3 weeks total. But this was also in the holiday season which were taking longer at that time.

hey i have a question. so i applied as CCA, did the test, etc. so they sent me to do my background check online, then they sent me the offer letter and i accepted it. so then i got a email about a “fast track” meeting/interview and fingerprints. i went today to do the meeting/interview. she asked me a few questions and a few scenario questions and after that she told me to watch out for emails. does that mean i didn’t get the job? because i thought i was supposed to do fingerprints the same day with the meeting/interview.

I’m not sure on this one! As I didn’t actually have a meeting/interview like that. But I would call back and ask about the fingerprints part and see what they say? Could have been a honest mistake and forgot about that part.

Yes you get paid for your orientation and training👍🏻. The pay is $18.51/hr for CCA. When you first applied the job description would have said what the pay was. But yes you get paid for your orientation, shadow day, day 2 training/defensive driving, LLV driver training and CCA Academy.

Hey Charles my background. Was finally cleared I’m not sure about fingerprints yet but I received an email with the subject “Your first day of work with the usps “ it basically said that I have been selected for the position I applied for CCA and I am scheduled for orientation but that email doesn’t contain my actual orientation date which is strange I don’t know if this has happened to you when you applied ? Or how many emails you received then my hiring coordinator sent me another email saying I will receive a date whenever my EIN comes thru may I know your experience on that ?

Oh okay, so they can’t schedule for orientation yet until they get you your EIN(Employee Identification Number) assigned. Because you get paid for orientation but they need a EIN to pay you. This has happened to others. Hang in there 😁👍🏻 you’re in the home stretch lol. Congrats on finally getting your email. YAY 😁👍🏻👏

@@tatianagovantes3467 my hiring coordinator emailed me about the hire date/orientation date and then texted me also during orientation Zoom meeting making sure I was able to log in and then what time did it end so she could make sure I got credit for the class and paid hours👍🏻But my supervisor was also in touch with me by phone to coordinate my shadow day and day-2 training.

Just have to look at the pros and cons of each job🤔😁👍🏻 USPS is a government job, pension plan, 401k, once you make regular/career you get the awesome health coverage like what DC people get 😁👍🏻 time off and holidays. 6 paid holidays when you’re non-career and I believe it’s 11or12 days for paid holiday when you make regular/career.
