I have 10 months in right now. I enjoy the job. Casing took a while once you really do the route a few times you know where everything thing is. At first i was always the last person out of the office now im always the first person out. Only thing i really dislike about this job is helping all the lazy carriers.

This seems like a little thing, but I'm a super fast caser and I always make sure each piece of mail is perpendicular to each particular cell before I push it in. If you push in mail at an angle, it will sometimes get hung up. There are very small spaces between the slots and the dividers placed in them and thin paper can get jammed in them. Pushing the mail straight in is faster in the long run.

Thanks for the continuous positive attitude, I am from California, I just attend my second day Carrier Academy and we practice casing for second day, I'm the last person to finish casing in my class, I am frustrated but I know I will do better if I keep trying. Thanks again for the video!

Yeah I’m lost when it comes to casing, I’ve been on my route not a month yet but I feel like I’m just slow and always looking for streets. One thing though I love walking delivering mail and being outdoors

Doesn't hurt to ask. They had us go thru a driving course for a few hours before hitting the street.

Imo, it’s because these routes are too long. Usually a runner originally had the route…ran through it, cutting corners every chance they could get to stay on management good side and then finally bid off the route or retire leaving behind a mess for any carrier behind them. Management and your co-workers hate the customer

Bro casing with double wickets so hard for me and I started like April 5 I work in Houston Texas my station is no walking just apartments business/ nbus but my regs say carries that start off at walking stations are professional carries I have mad respect for walking stations I was the only person in my group going to a non walking station outta 22

@@Quaneto100 damn being grouped in with those 2 heavyweights means a lot. Thanks for watching. Weather must be nice but that station sounds like hell I hate apartments and businesses. Cluster boxes I don't mind. I prefer to walk. The 3 routes I can do in my sleep are mostly walking.
@Quaneto1003 жыл бұрын
Yeah we have mounted too I was slow at first because I was training on apartments and it’s pretty much easy but the parcels are hell especially if the office doesn’t accept them or the amazon guy used up the parcel locker

This may be a random question but during orientation the instructor said during anonymous mail it must have 3 criteria: 1. Only postage stamps, 2. Weigh more than 10 oz or more than 1/2 inch and 3. Not approved by a USPS employee. I understand 1 and 3 since there’s no bar code to track the package but I don’t understand number 2. Also, how does one know if the package is more than 1/2 inch or more than 10 oz?
@benb16253 жыл бұрын
I have never stumbled across anonymous mail, you never know though some day you might
@jasonzhao96413 жыл бұрын
@@benb1625 that wasn’t my question. My question is if weighs less than 10 oz and/ or less than 1/2 inch but still meets the other two criteria, there would still be no tracking. So I was wondering why is there a weight/ height requirement in the criteria. Also another question I have is how would you know whether a package weighs more than 10 oz or more than 1/2 inch?
