@@MailmanNick I actually reapplied for Clerk position. I spoke to two clerks before doing it. Thing is, I just moved to Kansas after being in Florida for 20 years and everyone is scaring me about the winters. And the dogs are friggin psychos here, lots of people getting bad bites. I've had to use my satchel on a dog already, luckily that was all it took for me to get back to the vehicle but he wasn't standing down. You got any dog stories/advice?

@@jordancollins5972 I am glad you didn't. It's easy to get discouraged, I sure was. This has to get easier the more we do it. Just remember the struggle is real and I am going through it with you.

I know this is 7 months old, but one of the tricks I tell the newer guys is think of all of the hits on a route as pieces of a pizza.... Just take one piece at a time, get the mail out and delivered and go from there. The streets and the addresses never really change so once you've delivered some place a couple times you will know where to go which is a huge part of the job. It definitely gets easier the longer you do it.

Dumb question but are we guaranteed decent hours during training/orientation and moving forwatd worth the job in the beginning to maintain bills, food, gas and what not or should I just go to part time with my job I have now for awhile. Just a single parent worrying that hours won't be there in the beginning. Trying to start a new career path is stressful in itself let alone worry if ill still be able make ends meet.

No guarantee hours as a CCA but most offices have a lot of overtime

You get paid every second. Stash that money and then when you're comfortable, decide if you want to do something different. If you're young like me, it's a waste of time to chase pussy and go out when you're broke. Set yourself up so you're not breaking your back until you're 90.

Depends where your at. Im in a small office so we work no later than 6 everyday. Amazon Sunday usually ends by noon. Its great if you like having free time, but your paychecks will be much smaller cause your back before 6.

I worked 12 hours yesterday and 11 hours the day before. I'm a CCA but they put me on a rural route yesterday (grievance will be filed, I was told) and was casing from 8am to 2pm!!!! I got back to the office at 8pm. Ahhhhhh. It was horrible but that overtime and penalty time is sounding reaaaaal good.

I'm sorry to hear that. Try USPS you'll be able to rent in your first month after your first 2 checks honestly

@@amc4708 it happens to the best of us. One day the other month I got out of the office super late. I had a route and 2.5 hrs extra on me. My truck was completely stuffed with packages to where the were falling out when I opened the back door. I took a minute and let my emotions go and finished the day. Everyday is a new day. Stay calm and grind. Good luck

Political mail is basically the same thing as full coverage like with ad papers. Your basically going to every house to drop off a flyer. I dont even case that shit half the time just because it takes forever to do so. Just drop it in buckets and run it seperatly like i do ad papers

@@MailmanNick idk bruh out here I'm Denver I've been filing grievances for like six months and they just pay out the remedy pay...kind of a catch 22 and sad the inconsistency across the nation. We out here got regulars working 65-80 hours a week, myself included, and I just got no idea how to approach it especially when people put themselves out there for the penalty and grievance pay. It really draws lines on things. I also sadly believe CCA are exempt from grievance pay via 12/60. Would really wish you all got paid more starting since it's a competitive market. Anyways I've rattled on enough. Keep up the content green one and enjoy the positivity you spread. Life is what you make it and this job is not for everyone. 😎

@@adamlopez4866 thank you for the support. I had someone tell me "pick your battles". I'm here to make as much money as I can. I wish CCA's made PTF after 90 days and starting pay was more. Hopefully things will change soon.

You get paid for every second you're on the clock. If you're struggling they will have a carrier go help you. If that happens a lot though carriers will start to hate you. In the beginning it's not a big deal though.
