If you’re so wrapped up in what you don’t have you’re not paying attention to what you already have. In the first part he was so focused on the couples he’s not l looking where he’s going and gets hit by the car. If he was paying attention to his surroundings he could have avoided getting mowed over by the crazy ppl in the car. The other part is focusing so much on another person and forgetting your surroundings which again is why he was once again one with the road as he got hit. The waking up with himself could represent taking care or being okay with yourself first before trying to take care of someone us.

The clip is up for different interpretations, it can be taken as life will always be the same but it is your perspective that matters, it can also be taken as you need to drop toxic relationships in your life since that friend is leading him on with how she acts while keeping it under the friends label and at the end he is scolding himself with the “yaah” at the end to snap out of it. It can be also taken as representation of idols’ lives, where the have to be alone so fans be content, while they really don’t care even when he is bleeding on the road, they still carry on with their lives, and when he is in relationship everyone is angry and unhappy and STILL don’t care about him dying and focusing on fighting among themselves. It can be taken in many ways, that’s how art is 🔥💜

So many interpretation for this song and I also agree that it fits the idol life as well. I also have another take on the ending with two Tae’s. Tae explained that it’s a love story about having feelings for a friend and wanting to end being friends and become more. In that context I took the end scene as the first Tae (lonely/single Tae) as back to usual waking up alone and the second Tae (coupled in love Tae) as the one who tried to take it to the next level (become more than friends) only to be rejected (car accident = end) and he is also back to square one waking up alone. ‘End in friend can go both ways, lets end bring friends to be more or he tries and is rejected and friendship ends. Tae saying ‘yah’ is like acknowledging that both Tae’s ended up in the same place, alone. And smirking Tae is his ‘gotcha’ for us. He likes to tease us. Remember when he did the tattoo on his neck for ON, he told us he did it because we like to make up theories. Tae’s dry, dark sense of humour is at play with the witty mv and working with a British crew in the uk is a perfect match as the brits love a dry sense of humour as well. Loved the first zoom out shot of tae alone surrounded by couples in love, his expression was a comedic expression of ‘I’m so done’ if ever there was one.

i really liked the song! he looked so good too, like the eyebrow piercing and the outfits and all, sooo good!! i didn’t really get the meaning of the mv at first, but i saw this theory around: basically he’s lonely and sad and thought he’d be happy with a partner and then gets klled, then he gets a partner and they’re in their own bubble but he still gets klled, meaning getting a partner didn’t resolve his problem. and he waking up next to himself is his way of saying ‘love yourself first, be happy with yourself first’
