I use it both communicate with providers but also as a log audit tool to keep an audit trail of the mistakes they frequently make including ordering medicines I didn't request, confirm, or ask for. I have also used secure messaging to trap/secure/expose my providers telling me lies.

Yes, that's absolutely true Laura. For the receiver's side or the clinician & care providers, their leadership has timers on these messages & are constantly monitored by having a timer attached to these messages. The providers must respond within a certain limit mandated by the local administration.

This is a great tool. I also recommend printing out important messages as some of mine have been deleted over time.

When you go to send a message, there will be a drop down menu. You have to figure out the codes so you know which label goes to which department. I had to call tech support and get them to add my current primary care team and delete the old one. It really helps to contact the PCT directly via email rather than go through all the hassle of calling the VA and trying to get something done. I had to remind the PCT twice about referrals that didn't get completed.

I'm 30% for Gerd/Ibs. I just had a c&p exam for an increase the other day. Today ebenfits shows pending decision approval. If approved for the increase, is the next percentage 60% for this.

How long has your message gone unanswered? You can call the VA white house hotline and file a complaint that you aren't able to get through to a care team. 1-855-948-2311 Are you already an established VA patient?

My experience is this website is not as good as claimed, if your using this website to Upload documents please follow up and confirm the upload and if sending docs confirm they were received, Be careful with this website !

Hey there! Where are you getting your VA notes? It should be in your Blue Button Report within 24 hours. You can download, and then search the PDF version of your Blue Button Report by keywords to find your messages here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iLh6nLh6p9SZoIU.html

My supplemental claim for sleep apnea just closed yesterday. When I checked ebenefits all I see that new is it says related to environmental hazards in gulfwar but no rating yet. Do you think that means it was granted in my favor

How can this site be beneficial for a reservist that is retired and receiving compensation. There is no way to secure message anyone. There are no records on file. Is there a way for this to be populated?

Hey there, just seeing this comment! Have you applied for VA healthcare? Once you have officially applied and are accepted as a VA patient, you will be able to secure message and will be assigned to a provider based on your request via your message.

Quick question, how do I get my private provider to write a nexus. Because, for some reasons she is scared of the VA. Or should I just find a new Dr.?

A lot of providers are not familiar with VA paperwork and how to word a nexus letter. There are companies out there that specialize in this though! If your doctor needs some guidance on verbiage etc, you can lead them in the right direction with the terminology "More likely than not caused or aggravated by..."

Apperantly Myhealthevet site is very limited for vets living overseas. I have no secure messaging, no ability to use most of the website and my bluebutton records are blank. What a shame.

This is sad!! I would complain and make some noise. You are not the only veteran living overseas and you should not have limited access. White House VA Hotline: 1-855-948-2311.

THE VA IS CONCERNED VETERANS LIVING OVERSEAS WILL BE HACKED. THEY WILL NEVER ALLOW IT.
