2 Chutneys to pair with breakfast
Peanut Chutney
Ingredients:-
Peanuts- 1/2 cup
Roasted Chana Dal - 1/4 cup
Green chillies- 5-6
Cumin - 1/4 tsp
Garlic cloves- 6
Tamarind- few pieces
Salt - To Taste
Water- As Required.
In a add peanuts and dry roast it till they crack. Let them cool and remove the skin. Then add those peanuts to a mixer grinder, roasted chana dal, green chillies, cumin, garlic, tamarind, salt and grind into a coarse paste. Then add water and make into desired Chutney Consistency.
Tomato- Onion Chutney
Ingredients:-
Tomatoes- 4
Onion- 1
Ginger- 1 inch
Garlic cloves- 8
Green chillies- 4
Tamarind- few pieces
Turmeric- Pinch
Chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
Salt - To Taste
Oil - 1 tsp
Water- As Required
Method:-
In a pan add oil, cumin, garlic, ginger, green chillies, onion, salt, turmeric, chilli powder, tomatoes, tamarind and cook it closed for 7-8 minutes. Then switch off the flame and let it cool completely. Then grind into a paste.
Tempering for both chutneys
Ingredients:
Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard- 1/2 tsp
Cumin - 1/2 tsp
Red chillies- 3
Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Chana dal - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves- 2 sprigs
Hing - Pinch
