Super excited to see you playing a rarity restricted deck! They've been my bread and butter for EDH brewing for the last couple years, so it was neat to see you immediately identity the issues they have with card advantage. It gets better at Artisan (commons and uncommons only), it's still hardest in mono-red by far. I actually just joined your Patreon after being a long time fan, so if you end up visiting rarity restricted decks in the future, I'd love to lend some tech to help the decks from running out of gas to fast, which is a common issue.

Pauper? Valduk? Liking that immediately. For card draw (I'm not finished the video yet) reckless impulse and wrenn's resolve both exile the top two cards of your library and let you play them this turn. It's kind of the best type of card draw in mono red.

Not gonna lie, Zombie seems to bring pretty sweaty decks to your games from what I can tell. Like demonic tutor, into grim tutor the first two spells of the game? It's not busted, but it's certainly that type of decks I roll my eyes at. Shame, cause the other decks are typically unique.

Na he is usually a bit underpowered for the table. I was trying to get him in the habit of going just a little harder for most games just to level things out, but happened to be the wrong game to bust out mono black control. I didnt realize it was pauper until after deck selection, so this ones on me.

I never could get into pauper edh buty local play group is really enjoying artisan which is commons and uncommonsnonly with commander needing to be legendary creature. It's an amazingly fun format and a lot of the decks can play toe to toe with non artisan decks. The card pool is much larger and there's enough commanders to have a lot of different arches types represented. It's also nice that the format gets maybe 30 new commanders a year and not hundreds lol.

Well, on it seeming to being a voltron or a token go wide and you wouldn't win via commander damage I imagine his role as " either block this 20/20 trample, hexproof indestructible commander with all your creatures" Or block 10 3/1 elementals thatll die any way, they complement eachother

in the past when ive played him, purphoros and impact tremors also seemed to do a lot of heavy lifting. I dont know I've always found him a little weird, but if you enjoy the play style dont let me stop you from having a good time :)

My marketing department sucks😄. I used to guest on smaller shows and live streams, but I've never been invited to do any of the bigger shows that get more eyes on them. Although Tomer did have me on his stream once and that was quite fun so shout out to Tomer. But yeah I've mentioned my interest to a number of people in years past to come on their show, and well I never got invited.

Yeah i wanna revisit this one against softer opponents. I didnt actually notice it was a pauper deck until about halfway into filming. Very unevenly matched this game.

Red decks wins wasn't a super viable strategy in commander. But that changed last year when they released Imodane and some other red commanders. Now, red decks can be extremely competitive

OG Purphuros, Neheb, Torbran, etc. predate Imodane substantially and are freakin busted. In some ways I envy you never having run into those 😁

love the IDEA of a pauper EDH deck but in practice games are often won by combos (or super long attrition games) and all the splashy finishers (even the cheap

Pauper EDH is really sweet when people don't just abuse the top tier lists. I actually had a pretty solid thing going with my playgroup - Boros Bully, Jund Midrange, and a few other decks port over from Pauper REALLY well. We made a rule that everyone got to play a couple uncommons and a single rare, though. Most of those slots were interaction/overruns - not having board wipes or a way to efficiently overrun the table made all of us much better at combat, but also dragged out games.

My playgroup each has one pauper deck and the games are always very entertaining and none of us run infinites.
