Battlefront 1 was my jam! Many nights were spent at my friends house playing this all night on ps2. It mastered the immersive feeling of being in the middle of a star wars battle and it was always so tense when it came down to the last few AI on each team.

Best loading screen I think. The planet zoom in was epic.

Yeah, the spinning vehicles is actually a bug that occur with computer too recent or powerful for the game. I think someone fixed that

I actually think that the lack of playable heroes and the no sprint made the game more balanced than the sequel, especially if you were just playing offline.

Battlefront II is amazing, but you need to give respect to the OG Battlefront. It did everything II did, just without lightsabers, Episode 3 and space combat, but it allowed you to lead a droid army in a mass genocide against the Gungans. :D

Me and my dad played this together all the time when I was little. I remember one time we only had 2 tickets left on mos Eisley cantina and he held down one entrance and I held down the other against like 100 enemies. My fondest video game memory

Battlefront I’s mechanics are so simple it’s refreshing. There aren’t any special abilities so you don’t lose the fun or “high” when you play the game for hours on end. You can fight on the front lines, fly a star fighter and dogfight or bomb, steal an enemy vehicle, snipe, go after vehicles, I mean it’s just endless. By far my favorite game.

You can tell this game was really good because when the sequel came out I still felt compelled to come back and play this one. The maps were mainly what made it good especially geonosis.

Droidekas were a lot tougher in this one. A few in the Rhen Var ice tunnels would take out a large chunk of my clones.

I completely agree that the geninosis in battlefront 1 is better than the battlefront 2 genosis

Look at this rookie, we all know to use the yellow engineer clone or droid when operating vehicles. So you can get the passive repairs mid air for ez health.

Battlefront 2004 was the best Battlefront, it was just overshadowed by the sheer amount of content 2005 had. And 2005 game out in the peak year for Star Wars. In 2005 we had a Battlefront game, Republic Commando, the better of the two KOTORs, AND Revenge of the Sith. Star Wars had never, and likely will never again, reach that much win in a single year.

Rhen Var was the closest thing to making Hoth in the Clone Wars era. That is what bugged me about the original battlefront being unable to do Hoth and Endor in the Clone Wars era.(really a Clone Wars battle on Hoth or Endor would of been awesome).

My brother and I used to love jumping on top of the Bespin Platform tunnels and taking out the enemy from above. We genuinely thought we were geniuses 😆 Also, this first Battlefront IS the one I think of, and it is my favourite in the series 😎

Battlefront 2 may have had better classes, but Battlefront 1 had better land maps by far. Tattooine wastes, Rhen Var Harbor, Bespin Platforms, and Geonosis Spire were all FAR better maps. Bespin Cloud City was also quite good.

In my opinion Battlefront 1 was one of the best game on PS2.

Man these og games make me wish for the utter destruction of star cards. I just liked the idea of strict classes with no deviation. On a progression standpoint, it could get stale so I would propose minor customization and having a ton of classes (like 15 a team) where the more you level up your profile, you unlock access to different classes and certain equipment. Also putting bots and mixing them in multiplayer with their own class ai would scream starwars and make casuals happy as well as vets who go on streaks. I would even like the idea of some ai being assigned to your own squad (like in the og games up to 2 ppl) and they would listen to orders like attack, hold position, ammo and health cannisters, etc. They could even add in dpecial call ins like air strikes if your squad is doing well, incentivizing people to play the objective. Challenges like kill so many ppl with this weapon while yadda would unlock some equipment changes and maybe small perk cards (not star card level crap but things that would be class specific like gain 20 health if you survive 1000 explosions for a missile person, etc.) Classes could include the classics like assault, heavy(missiles), sniper, engineer, and new ones like scout, chemical weapons, machine gattling guns (og), officer, bomb squad(defuses traps in the map and unlock secret flank routes), then ones specific yo factions include droidekas, magna guards, commanndo droids, arc troopers, red guards, flame throwers, etc. I could go all day but this is all i got for now. Lastly, a coop/versus galactic conquest mode with one, or a number of friends with bonuses and unlocking classes as well as other new additions must be there!

best part is when the reinforcement count reached a low enough number the entire team will abandon all turrets and vehicles even if they're flying in the air. plus certain maps began harder due to the AI tending to be suicidal on certain maps. -All water maps for CIS is difficult since their firepower the Droidekas will drown to death while rolling. -Geonosis is tricky for the clones since the pilots accelerate their gunships constantly killing themselves -The defending team for Rhen Var Harbour will lose their tanks due to poor physics allowing the attacking teams AT-AT/spawn point to waltz in. In fact all clone wars battles are hard due to how op Droidekas were.

What I remember most about this game is Playong Bespin:Platforms with jedi on And just playing rocket Troopers and Blowing Count Dooku off the edge XD

I prefer this version than the second most of the time. I love the second one, but my favorite is the original. My favorite maps are the two from Bespin, the two from Rhen Var, and pretty much a whole bunch more.

Dude, bespin platforms as the clones, I've only ever been able to do it once but I actually managed to fly a Jedi fighter through the main HQ of the enemy

My best memory of this game I’m the last rebel vs 4 scout troopers and an at-st. So first I shot a scout then two scout fled to the trees so I followed and got sandwiched so one got killed by friendly fire the other one I got So now there’s one scout and the at-st which is completely oblivious. Some how I managed to destroy the at-st and either by AoE damage from the explosion or if it crushed the scout the scout died and I won the battle And it was online I don’t know how I did this

Vehicles in this game are basically "you wont catch me when I shift into **MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE**"

Those bugs you showed in the intro, i literally NEVER, saw anything like that. If this game received a modern graphics having remake, id buy it for sure. In my own opinion, for a single thing, its even better than classic Battlefront II, like, ever thought, that every bot in BF II is out there just to kill you? That they would almost suicidally rush through your friendly bots to get at you? Well, thats because it really is like that. Apparently, in BF II classic there is a thing that makes bots prioritize player as a target. In my opinion, it is an awful choice. Id really just like it to be an battle, where every bot will target any target that could be potentially of harm to them. Its simply more immersive. Honestly, the only reasons i dont still play it are, that i only have it on disk that doenst work, and that i am too lazy to seek out a new one, because i dont really play the game anyways anymore. Well, its not like we can expect any good SW games to come out in close future, or as long as EA own the rights to it. All they care about is money.

Bespin Platforms is still probably my favorite map from any of the Battlefront games.

This game was so fun to split screen with. It was a pretty solid multiplayer star wars shooting game. It was nice to kill Ewoks and to assault Hoth. Then the second came out and did all that, but better.

2 things that i like in the first one over the 2nd (2nd still being my favorite) was that there was ships in land battles and a few maps had a 3rd team like the tusken raiders on tattoine

Weird, I've never experienced anything even remotely similar to the vehicle glitches you show in your video. This is the first time I see vehicles do this in this game :O

I loved the first Battlefront to death, it was one of the first PC games I had.

This video killed me, Battlefront was my childhood, I expected to see fighting on the caves, using the spaceships to strafe the enemy, using speederbikes to run over heroes, etc. But all I got was “spin to win 10/10 comedy”

This game was my childhood. I wish they'd combined BF1's maps and character models with BF2's graphics and space battles. I can honestly say I didn't encounter any of the physics silliness, I played on PS2.

I remember managing to kill mace windu in this game by trapping him in a corner using a tank and shooting him for ages

I remember that being blow up by a grenade and spinning around were the funniest things in this game.

I love this game. My brother and I spent hours upon hours refining strategies and coming up with our own game modes. Really good memories.

I modded all the BF1 maps into BF2 so it's pretty much the best of both games

no joke I've always preferred this one over battlefront 2, the ability to fly ships on ground maps and not being able to play as a hero (instead them being this terrifying almost invincible force) just always seemed better

I always felt the first game had an overall more polished feel to it, and that it looked better in first person mode. Battlefront 2 was definitely better in 3rd person and looked much better graphically, but the overall feel was slightly less polished than the first game. I think the jet trooper/droideka and the sniper class were probably the most OP in the first Battlefront, which is why they got somewhat nerfed in the second game, with the jetpack getting less health and time to fly and the sniper not being able to see the reticule when firing from hip. In the first game if you ran straight into the line of fire as assault, you'd probably end up dead, but in the second game they changed this so that assault is much more effective at medium-close range. The Hard difficulty was also much harder in Battlefront 1, especially in the campaign mode.

god i have some freaking amazing memories of thus game,like the sarlac pit in tatooine,no mans land in the bespin bridge,or the special units like dooku or windu crushing armies and blocking bazookas,mines,tanks rockets and raising like if it wasnt a big deal,and the only real way to kill them was ramming them with the speeder or throwing them out of the map

I still play the Classic SWBF 1 & 2. My favorite SW games of all time.

I really liked both 1 and 2. BF2 improved on the campaign, running, heros, galactic conquest, space battles, bringing tanks to a more reasonable level, and they had some really good maps. BF1 had better loading screens, maps in general, spaceships on ground battles, much more powerful AATs, and they had the superior Genosis.

The AA Gunship jet sequence was beyond amazing, glad you could showcase this little gem, keep it up! ;)

The timeless classic indeed. Me and my brother playing everyday after school for 10 years straight. Never failed. Our favorite map was dune sea. We always duked it out in GCW. He was always the rebellion and I the empire. I still play this on my PS2 every weekend. It has never lost in me. He and I still play it when he comes home from base. It's what bonded he and I together. That and reenacting the opening seen from shooter with Nerf guns and sweet tarts. I miss those days with him

I actually think Battlefront 1 is more fun! it's more difficult which makes it more challenging and thus more fun. Battlefront II is not better than Battlefront I. It's just different. Both games are awesome

I remember finding a sweet spot inbetween the droideka laser streams that you could stay in. You could empty the clone trooper's clip to take down it's shield and then kill it. Also using the roll to move across the map faster. Good times.

Dude I LOVED this game. Sometimes more than BF2. The maps in my opinion were better as well as some of the classes. The sniper class had the orbital laser strike on the little scout droid you could send out, and you could blow up an entire platoon if you’re good enough. I remember putting the hero’s on both sides on cloud city and not being able to kill the enemy hero so me and my friend would put down mines and blow them off the map. Also, if you guys ever want a huge ass battle, go to Kashyyk, but the one with all the little huts at night. You’ll literally see like 30 dudes chillin in the hills and you just have an all out war. Also, one of the best things about this game is that you have the chance of not dying from a grenade. It just launches you in the air and you roll but you get up and live. No fall damage. Man.. so many memories. Gotta pop this game in sometime.

There was some really cool shit in this game that they didn’t carry over to the second game. First person vehicles for instance.

Tatooine was my favorite map, playing in the canyon where there are the 2 normal factions, plus sand people and a sarlaac pit. I would always pick a sniper class, land on top of a rock formation, and snipe the battlefield

Always thought BF1 was better for multiplayer whereas BF2 is better for singleplayer (this badass 501st campaing with badass cutscenes, won't forget that).

I remember that there where a few glitches in Rhen Var Harbor, where you could stand in an ice pillar. You could shoot out, but the enemys couldn't shoot at you. Also you could drive with a tank on the roofs of some buildings. Sweet memories.
