I think she was faking her accent. My aunt is a native Japanese and lives for 50 years plus outside Japan but still has a problem to say 'L' while speaking my language very fluent.

You typify the brilliance of Japanese , particularly female Japanese .I was married to a Japanese woman and endured mindless comments about how compliant and obediant and how lucky I was. I was , but non japanese people failed to see the inner metal and strength that was lying under the surface. You have this in bucket loads and I see it in every performance.
