Valve Cover Gaskets | 2nd Gen 4Runner

We noticed smoke coming from the engine bay with that awful smell of burnt oil. As suspected, our valve cover gaskets were leaking oil onto the exhaust manifold. In this video I will show you how to replace the valve cover gaskets on your 3VZE and in the process swap out the throttle body gasket, intake plenum gasket, and PCV valve and gromet. Yeah, going to be honest between the truck and the 4runner, I prefer working on the Cummins over the 3VZE.

I have a 94 and having problems in the same way need to flush everything out engine , radiator cause the last mechanic didn't do something right now I have over heating, smokie tailpipe . Thanks for this info I learn this for sure the difference valve cover gasket and seal gasket. I believe they didn't seal something up right cause I have a milky oil dipstick not Good . They told Me to bring it Back . Nope 😢 are they Crazy

I had this done by a shop shortly after buying our 4Runner about 4 years ago and it was I think around 600$ CAD if I remember correctly. Material cost isn't much but the time is the expensive part. Thanks! We love Oregon it's beautiful.

Is gasket maker RTV stuff also recommended between the gasket and the valve cover?

After doing this job I don't believe it is required. The gasket seats into the valve cover pretty well. I haven't had any leaks so far since doing this job.
