Don’t know if I did the song justice, but here’s my take on The Seventh Seal: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o99pg859ysjJXYk.html
@5150Lupo4 жыл бұрын
Wildhoneypie1968 was he fired or did he leave?🤔 it’s still mind boggling to this day. 😂
@Jonno2summit4 жыл бұрын
@@5150Lupo The true answer is found on KZfaq in interviews. What I heard from Eddie is that he thought Sammy was being lazy about the production of their music and showing up late and stuff. I don't think that's the real reason, but that is what Eddie said (as I recall, and please don't take my word for it). Sammy's side of the story is that he was called up one morning and fired outright. Done, end of deal, and it was blunt and rude. And henceforth, they have been divided and haven't talked. But this is all here-say, and we as fans need to reserve a large quantity of self-proclaimed ignorance on these subjects. Eddie and Sammy are real people, and I don't want to say too much or act like I know them or know what's really going on. For all I know, they may talk to each other from time to time and don't want the general public to know about it. It's not our business! Paul McCartney and John Lennon had a serious rift going on, and we didn't know the details of that either. AND WE SHOULDN'T. They are people too, and they don't need us fans and the general public getting into their personal lives. LET THEM BE. Respect them as people. I'm not ranting at others - this is what I tell myself.

This is the best song from one of their best concerts ever filmed. I remember being blown away as I watched it on PPV. When you watch this version of Eddie Van Halen, the solo is just mind boggling. When he was on and sober, there is NOBODY any better! He is definitely one of the elite guitarists that ever lived. IMO EVH, SRV, Hendrix & Jimmy Page are in the Top 5 I copied this show on VHS & its decent but I wish VH would put out on DVD. Does anyone know where shows like this can be purchased?
@Wolf-51-5012 жыл бұрын
Well, i think it's safe to say, after 16 years, that "Balance" was (is) a great album, and "Feelin" the perfect conclusion to it! Eddie was probably at his best and so was the rest of the band. It's a pity Sammy and Michael left and all that happened after that. Thank you guys for everything and...Eddie will always be THE KING!

I can hear bits of Crossing Over in this. Beautiful
@MattSmith-iq1ld5 жыл бұрын
"Black is white; and white is black; we've got politicians smoking crack; and Pope Paul's all bulletproof; and it puts me through the roof" - fantastic and so topical in 1995. Aside from "Amsterdam," Sammy went out of his way and wrote the best lyrics on any VH album ever with Balance. The love songs are filled with passion because they are all focused on Sammy's divorce from his high school sweetheart. "Crossing Over" should've replaced "Amsterdam." I know some band members felt it was too personal. The song's music was originally penned in 1983 after a friend of EVH committed suicide, but it really became super relevant to the band when Sammy's father died prior to the recording of Balance. More important was the passing of their manager Ed Leffler, which I believe is the biggest reason why the friendship between Hagar and the VH brothers fractured. "Crossing Over" would've been a fitting tribute to both men.
