+John Michaelson Love Ed but imo he is a ass and not the most truthful. After a loooong tour was over,Sam went home to CA to see his wife/kids. Ed called and wanted him to fly to Hawaii NOW to do the Twister Human beings song. Sam tried to tell Ed to give him some time off but he did go to Hawaii and do the song. Then on Father's day,Ed told Sam he was a great solo artist and should go back to being one and fired him. The recent flareup was Ed trashing MA claiming he had to basically show him how to play the bass. Imo Sam and MA have always been consistent and well grounded where as Ed,well not so much.
@GreatWhiteCutch7 жыл бұрын
JT Michaelson honestly, from what I've heard, it's not that Sammy doesn't like Eddie. It's that Eddie won't let Mikey play bass again. He bashes Mikey left and right to self-promote his son. They're a package in Sammy's eyes. Ny hope is they get together again, but as long as Eddies son is on bass, it's not happening.
@jtmichaelson7 жыл бұрын
+Brett: I personally hate what they did to Mikey. He's one of the badasses of rock and roll. He's one of the tightest and most disciplined bass players I think ever. That guy never missed a beat and always performed like motherfucker. You can actually see Mike Anthony loved doing what he did, and he did it right. So yes, Ed is seen as a real asshole for what he did. And Sammy seems to give a shit about it. But seeing DLR back at the mic was not only cool, and unexpected, but a HUGE surprise considering how much they hated him. The shit Ed and Alex kept saying was just disheartening. I figured they were dead in the water. But look. Here they are. And surprisingly still together after 3 years. That's even more of a shock. I expect it all to implode any day now.

@ab-ll7dv3 жыл бұрын
Hahah come on mate. VH 1 is the best album.
@breauxcewayne19713 жыл бұрын
He said VH’s best LIVE album, not album. He’s 100% correct as well because Van Halen was absolutely on fire during this tour. Alex was at his PEAK and Eddie was sober for the first time. Eddies always been phenomenal live (minus the 2004 tour) but on this tour it was just at another level. Plus he needed a hip replacement so he wasn’t running around and jumping like he usually did. Therefore he was just 100% dialed in on playing Look up on KZfaq Van Halen live 1995 Toronto. Not saying it’s the best set list because I thought that was the only knock about the Hagar years was other than the new album they played the same songs every single tour. In 1993 they played Unchained which was awesome. Their catalog was so much deeper than just Panama, Jump and Ain’t Talkin Bout Love. I get him not wanting to play more than 3-4 Roth era songs but mix them up and they should of also dug deeper into their catalog with Hagar instead of always the typical songs such as Why Can’t this Be love and Dreams. Now back to my original point. On that Toronto 95 show watch Alex’s solo. I play drums and his solo is at a Neil Peart level. His overall playing is also the best it’s ever been. I think the neck brace may have actually been something that ended up helping him because it kept all his movements tight and precise. Plus he kept getting better with age. Hagar pointed that out that Alex still practiced on a consistent basis and it was rare that someone with that level of success gets better. They usually stay the same or get worse Hagar said. Then if you watch Eddies solo you’ll see that it’s the best live solo he’s ever done which is SAYING A LOT. The songs from the balance album are also epic live. So seeing 95 Van Halen with a set list that would of had more deeper tracks would of been the ultimate Van Halen concert video. Rothadites please don’t say Oakland 81 because the band wasn’t as tight yet and Roth was never a good singer live. I like both the Roth and Hagar eras. But if I had to pick 1 as far as music I’d pick the Roth era and if I had to pick which version was better live then it would be Hagar . =\/|-|= forever!

It’s funny how when some bands are about to break up have peak musical chemistry. They get so tired of each other that they totally lose themselves in the music to escape from each other and that’s where the best performances come from, a band at odds with itself no matter how good they are together.

I think this was probably the point in time where Ed started taking himself too seriously and becoming a bit difficult to deal with. This was a good album, but Ed's writing seemed kind of dark and was probably a reflecrion of his state of mind at the time, IMO. Also, you really can notice a subtle difference in his attitude during interviews compared to earlier ones. Looking back, he just seemed to get worse from around this point forward. It's too bad he destroyed this band. They could have had another 10 years as a mainstream act instead of prematurely becoming the nostalgia act that they turned into. Always loved EVH, but sad!

www.vhtrading.com/topic/aint-no-love-in-the-city Apparently, Ain't No Love In The City is a Florida Broadcast from 1995. Leads me to believe, they tried to credit the distributors of the Van Halen Pensacola Florida 1995 Live Audio Recording. It doesn't belong here, however these are also live Balance Songs in these vied but the credit should go to Van Halen and the Jon Stewart's Show. Checkout the Van Pensacola Florida concert video and you'll fin the same album credit.
