Its an art lost these days when a lot of people either play to backing tracks or have gotten so used to "perfect" KZfaq performances I've played 1000s of gigs, and even the most accomplished performers (and I don't claim to be at THEIR level!) will make mistakes The real mark of a Pro will be how they deal with it and either turn it into something cool or ignore it and carry on without dropping a beat

The rocker was a natural, but painfully shy. At the age of 12, to help him overcome his stage fright, Van Halen, who got his start playing with his dad, admits, his father introduced him to alcohol. "It wasn't really the partying. ... I don't mean to blame my dad, but when I started playing in front of people, I'd get so damn nervous. I asked him, 'Dad, how do you do it?' That's when he handed me the cigarette and the drink. And I go, 'Oh, this is good! It works!' For so long, it really did work. And I certainly didn't do it to party. I would do blow and I would drink, and then I would go to my room and write music."

Sad news today that the world has lost one of the best guitarist ever. Seriously, 2020 has been such a tough year. I never got to meet Eddie , but I saw VH in concert 11 different times over the years. Back in the days of General admission tickets, we would show up early and get front row. At the end of the Fair warning tour Eddie reached over and handed me a guitar pick. I have it in our safe deposit box along with all my concert ticket stubs. Minute 0:38 one of the rare occurrences where you see Eddie make what seems to be a mistake which for most people surely went unnoticed. He went into the verse when there was still one more round of intro. He recovered so well, in time, what a master!! Listening to it again, I see that it was because Dave said "Hey!", he was too early and Eddie thought Dave went into the verse. Eddie reacted in a mili-second and went to the verse, then in the same millisecond Dave stop singing and Eddie found his way back into the intro. Genius!!!

Michael Anthony was asked about releasing this whole show in an interview a few years ago. He said he was pretty sure that only three videos -- "Unchained," "So This Is Love?" and "Hear About it Later" were ever filmed.
@rags847
@rags847 9 жыл бұрын
WonkaVator72 I read that too, dude, but I have a hard time buying it. Who the hell brings a bunch of expensive cameras and film crews into a huge arena for two nights in a row, pays everybody and tells them to film three songs, some of which were toward the beginning of the show, some at the very end? Then just sit there with their big cameras off for most of the show. No one, that's who. MA is full of it. He just means 3 videos were edited together and mastered, but money is still on the raw footage stored somewhere. Think about it. You think they paid less for a film crew for 2 nights filming 3 songs versus the whole show? You think a multi-million dollar band with a sold out tour was trying to save pennies? The film crew was paid by the night, the same amount no matter if you asked them to film 1 song (would never happen) or the whole show. Mike, you are full of it. (I hope!)

It's obviously from multiple shows. In one second (2:26) Ed's playing the red/white/black striped guitar and in the other (2:28) he's playing the black and white with dots one. Dave was in rare form too...he only missed a couple lyrics and a cue at the beginning and sounds really good. I would buy the video of the whole thing if it existed. Here's my money!

@BigBlackRod
@BigBlackRod 5 жыл бұрын
@@teddybears4life240 I fell in love with VH during the Fair Warning period; they gave an interview on the old "Rockline" program, and Dave was just so witty, unlike other groups at the time, who took themselves so seriously.For example: " People say Ozzy is Be'elzebub, which is in error. I myself AM the son of satan, though my duties are largely ceremonial."..No other rock star has such a quote. I think it's gotta suck for Dave to have Ed's passing so close to Dave's birthday, which is October 10. I share a birthday with my mom (May 10; also the birthday of Bono of U2, and his daughter Ali, Fred Astaire, Mark David Chapman, who killed John Lennon, Sid Vicious, who killed himself, and John Wilkes Booth, who murdered Abraham Lincoln.) Not important, I just knew that...
