I know I posted this before but we playing this song when my son (24) was dying from cancer. The words of thirst and growing old hit us hard but the song somehow makes me think of Heaven. For me Sweet Thing is my boy who will never grow old like me and you.

Spent years going to school in PA and passed through Allentown many times traveling to and from my home in NJ. Now my son, who grew up in CA, is returning to PA where I learned so much. Going to make this video one of my favorites, Ed. I'll listen to it and think of my son and yours. As well as you and Monica.

That's so sweet Rochelle, I am sure it is so. Edward was o outgoing and funny. He made friends very easily and loved life. It is so very sad for us both. God bless you and your family. We just had his stone blessed on All Souls. We recalled Christ's promise of everlasting life.

I know it's a cliché to compare this kind of music with 'artists' like Justin Bieber, One Direction, etc. but isn't it such a shame that talented, genius artists like Van Morrison only get 100,000+ views on their videos while people like One Direction, Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber get millions upon millions of views when they've barely even had any input into their own music? They don't even write their own songs. It's all about promoting popularity and looks over the actual beauty of music these days. Such a shame.

Darren's reflections as a non-fan show Van's true greatness: even those who don't like him can be profoundly moved by certain songs. HI Nothing like a melancholy genius, lilting and tilting and coaxing the elusive into our reality to scintillate our souls! Shalom to you in Christ Yeshua.

The very great Frank Sinatra from New York town released his song My Way in the year 1969. My Celtic cousin from down the road, the mighty man from Old Belfast Town Van the man Morrison has been doing it his way from the age of 16 years onwards and has never let me down.

All Van fans know the history of Astral Weeks. For more than 40 years I have listened but never truly understood. I find that the most powerful reason for acclaiming the album as one of the very best ever compiled. If you want a literal understanding of this art, then I believe you are to remain forever unsatisfied and dissatisfied. Let the music and lyric take you and absorb you and some time shine a clear light but often leave you in the dark. Not everything can be explained and not everything understood. As in life so in art.

Sublime. Junta de a dos versos de la version original, y los convierte en uno solo, pero igual le sobra tiempo para prolongar y repetir palabras. Hace sonar su voz y la armónica a la vez .... y todo para hacer esta obra maestra. Me emociona cada vez que la escucho
