A brief update from Van’s Aircraft VP Greg Hughes on the current status and recently announced delays on some RV kits, and a few other things going on at Van’s.

Thank you for the continued transparency updates, Greg! We all know and understand the supply chain woes in today's system and appreciate Van's continued efforts to find solutions. Certainly pass on our appreciation to all the employees there at Van's who continue to pump out the kits to those waiting to continue their build! Keep up the great work!

Well done Greg and Vans. As a business owner and current Van kit builder, I see this both ways. It goes a long way just being transparent and honest when issues come up. Integrity still matters in this world and these types of videos exemplify that ethos. Kuddos and I can’t wait to finish my plane so thank you for making that possible!

Great update! I'm curious to know: Back in July 2020, you announced that RV-10 kits were transitioning to final-sized holes. I don't think I've heard an announcement of the transition being completed, nor any info on Van's progress towards completing the transition. Could you comment on what's going on with that? I'd suspect as the vertical integration continues, you're bringing that final-size hole capability in-house. Would you also comment/verify that?

Hi Andrew - We’ve completed the RV-10 transition to final sized holes. It’s possible there could be a few smaller parts left in the shelf but for sure the manufacturing change has been complete for several months now. As far as where that capability lives, it’s always been all in-house and developed by our engineering and production teams. The change with the RV-10 holes was basically one where we took that newer hole-punching capability back into the original RV-10 design programming that drives our CNC punch presses. So, it’s always been all in-house, and not external. Great question, thanks!
