In this video, I'm sharing the experience of my female model being sexually and violently harassed on a portrait photography photoshoot in a public place. Victoria gave me her permission to show this insane incident and her and her husband did press charges last we heard. This portrait photography experience has taught me some important lesson about the importance of safe and respectful working environments, and has made me more determined to make sure that everyone working with me is treated respectfully and with safety in mind.
While this video is just ridiculous to look at, please please, if you're experiencing any type of harassment at work, please don't hesitate to reach out for help. There are resources available to you, and I'm here to support you in any way I can.
I hope in this video you found tips on how to pose curvy models to make them look their best in portrait photography. I also provided some tips on how to pose curvy models, heavy models and plus size models to make these beautiful female models look their best and accentuate the body parts that they want to show off. This is all about portrait photography posing and lighting especially how to pose curvy models, and pose ideas for heavier people.

So highly inappropriate. These are guys that give most regular guys a bad name. And what was with that guy holding his junk like that? I mean, really? Absolutely zero respect for anyone. Especially uttering the threat of smashing his head with a rock. Good call on caring the cops. Let them sort it out. Smart move on the outfit change after. Gives everyone a chance to relax for a few extra moments after what happened. I'm not a big fan of sky replacements, myself but I'm glad you had fun with this shoot and the editing. The photos looked great!

These guys are real pieces of work. I hope they got arrested or cited. The model and her husband showed immense restraint and kudos to you guys for brushing it off and starting again. I had one incident like this where some guys were harassing my model and catcalling with explicit language. At some point someone even spat on her from above and I decided to just end the shoot and walk away so she was safe. This is beyond unacceptable....Makes me ashamed of society

I can't say I'm not a little disappointed they weren't charged with uttering threats for the rock comment or some sort of sexual harassment for the guy walking around with his junk in his hand. Great photos as usual. It's a shame all of you had to go through that kind of disrespect and harassment. As a male photographer, I work really hard to make sure the people I photograph feel comfprtable, especially women. I photograph my daughter's dance group and there have been situations when I've had to step between one of them and some person watching them perform. This kind of behavior is sickening.

That was crazy. I’ve had guys speak to my models in the past and follow from a distance and watch the whole shoot. I’ve had guys flirt with my wife assuming I’m just the photographer but these guys wouldn’t even show respect after being confronted by this woman’s husband. Out of control. That is fabulous how you filmed the hooligan. One can only hope that he gets criminally prosecuted. It's so unfortunate for you, your team, and your client to be exposed to such behavior. Impressed to see how professional and restrained you handled the altercation. The guy with the microphone was awesome. I've only had two situations where I documented someone's behavior in case actions warranted the police and it's interesting to see how the perpetrators can escalate things even if they know they're being filmed. That’s a big boy for these kids to be trying with. I actually had my first issue shooting this past summer; nowhere near as bad but it definitely was hard to handle professionally and to stay focused on the shoot and get back it. You guys did a great job keeping your heads and getting the shots you wanted.

Excellent posing advice, thank you! Take home message; Recognise when we are in a potentially dangerous position with our work and try to de-escalate or disengage as soon as possible. If no good then call the cops. You guys did well in a tricky situation. Those boys and their parents should be ashamed.

The worst they could get is "Disturbing the peace" which is a joke of a charge and because they'd clean up real nice in some suits in court, I'm sure most judges would see some "remorseful, lovely white young men that just made a temporary lapse in judgement" and they "probably learned their lesson" and would walk scott free. They will continue to act like this forever, and get away with it forever until someone takes action outside of a legal setting.

Holy WTF - this is shameful, kudos for keeping your cool and carrying on with your work. Glad you had her husband on hand as well to help. Your model was lovely and amazing for being able to continue. This is also why i have preferred for years shooting the more sensual subjects on location (especially beaches and hiking spots) at dawn which maximizes privacy and minimizes interruptions and interactions with the riff raff since they are still passed out and hungover. Hope this will be a one-time war story versus a recurring theme.

So sad that happened to you all. Top respect to her husband for keeping his cool. I will lighten the mood with a funny story of one time I was shooting a model. I live in Guernsey which is a small island and our high street is pretty quiet on a Sunday afternoon most shops are closed. So I am shooting a model in the high St when a older man and his wife walk past walking their dog. He is so busy watching the model that he trips over the dog lead. My goodness, that's so disrespectful! Great pictures though. I'm very intrigued by the distance the reflector is from the model in many of the shots... I'm so used to them being much closer. Fantastic edits and also great that you were able to continue with the shoot.

Nice display of restraint b the husband and great handling of the situation by the model and photographer. The pictures turned out great in spite of emotionally and physically stunted jerks. The model and photographer displayed incredible professionalism to get results in challenging conditions.

@7:48 you mention since you and your subject were flustered (rightly so!) - that you took the flash elelement out of it, and rather worked with lighting in post. Is this b/c using flash makes people more tense you think? I'm new to flash and learning, I've been against it a long time b/c it can look like unnatural lighting, but I hadn't considered that people might have bad emotional reactions to flash as well. What are your thoughts?

I had this same thing happen at a photo shoot as well. You guys were very laid back. I was at a waterfall so it was a bit more difficult. I did explain after putting up my camera that they needed to leave and they could go either direction. I did not care. We called the sheriff and they decided to leave. They took the road instead of the falls.
