Mummers are also a Newfoundland tradition, but it’s a little different. Around Christmas time the idea is to completely disguise who you are using anything and everything and go door to door asking “any mummer’s ‘lowed in?”. And the owner of the house is meant to be guessing who the person in the costume is. It is strange, I know 😂

My CBS Radio reps in NYC would say..."I gotta tap a MAC before we hail a cab". As a kid in Detroit, we called "Holler's Eve" ... "Devil's Night". "Washed" is my new favorite. Worth waiting for...

You really do Philly proud! But maybe it’s because I’m older or started my life down the shore in Wildwood, except for the food, the Rocky Steps and the MAC Machine which I used to tap, I never heard most of those expressions. And what is AHA? never heard of that either lol!

Jimmy's. They aren't sprinkles thems jimmys! jeet?- As in Did you eat? Anyone else use dag? Lol I remember "daaaaag" being a word we used alot as a kid (and I still use it to be honest lmao) I don't hear that anywhere else I've been but Philly and nj.

The "down the shore" was a little off. People just went down the shore for the day to hit the water, or walk the boards and get pizza. I grew up pretty poor and knew no one that owned a house down there lol. And I definitely still say "tap mac"

I had a flashback of 9th grade when he got to “Mummers”. Our math teacher decided to just play the Mummers parade instead of teaching, and another one of my teachers talked about how their daughter joined one of the clubs to perform at the parade.
