Pro tip, your car manual actually has a fuse box breakdown which shows you what each slot does. This is important because not all fuse locations operate the same, so you can actually set the conditions where the dashcam would receive power. My 2014 Chevy Sonic is the base model, but the fuse box still has a sunroof slot that's leftover from the more expensive models, so my dashcam occupies that slot since it remains off until I stick my key in the ignition and turn one notch before ignition activates. TL;DR with the hardwire kit you can actually set the camera to only be on when the engine is running, when power windows work, or always on depending on where you plug it in.

So for those who want to know, there is now an update that will give you 4k for this dash cam. That is why there are different resolutions for the same dash cam.

I just completed the hardwire install of this unit on my 2020 F150 this morning. Overall, not terribly difficult. Unfortunately, the micro 2 fuse adapter that's supplied with the kit doesn't work on late model F150s. I had the proper fuse tap on hand, so I was able to complete the installation. As I'm sure many of us are aware, the world is stuck on stupid right now, and our highways aren't exempt from that. The amount of reckless, careless, and downright dangerous drivers on the road right now is rather alarming. From rush hour traffic, to late night/early morning driving, idiot nation is out there. Having a dash cam may not prevent an accident, but it can certainly save you a lot of insurance company headaches by having proof of your side of the story. I opted for the GPS mount, the hardwire kit, and the 256 GB sd card. There are obviously cheaper ways to go, but I think the N4 is worth the money. I think it's only a matter of time until some sort of onboard camera becomes a standard feature in some vehicles. Nothing gives an insurance scammer the proverbial surprised pikachu face like a good dose of dash cam footage.

Awesome video! Simple and short

While the three lense device is a nice concept what's missing is a corresponding Android or Apple iOs application to access files within the device simply. It was a time consuming nightmare to properly identify a good installation location on the rear window of both my Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler then to conceal the corresponding cables. It took hours not minutes to install even with the Vantrue hardwire kit.

I am using it for a week , everything is fine but it's very hard to read license plates in the video at night time . Is that the limitations of the camera ? I tested for about different scenarios - video seems blurry when it comes to license plates . It's light reflection of the name plate which is leaving a distortion . Am I doing it wrong ? Anyone has similar issue ?

Yeah the hardwire kit will have the camera active when parked. Good for if someone vandalized or hit your car maybe but if someone breaks into your car? You think the person is going to leave the cameras in there for you to check the footage?

I dont need 24 hour surveillance. Can i still use the OBD for parking mode in case on an accident, but not have it drain my battery? I thought i saw that you could have parking mode only run for a short time to record the accident. Im not sure though.

So you have to connect wifi to it so like I can't get notifications from my alarm system when connected and using this? I have an Auto-vox and that is how it works when I'm using the dash cam I can't use internet or get alerts from my phone until I stop using the camera. I was hoping this one may have been different but I think this one operates the same. Very disappointing, I want one that I can still get alerts from my security system while using the camera. Might have to buy a 360 cam

Without the cloud feature, and it only recording on to a sd card, if it does catch a thief, and they steal the camera, then wouldn't the evidence and footage be gone too?
