This collection of personal care and beauty ads came from a tape that was marked "New Faces Of '86- Cosmetic Video" that I found. Most ads date from 1984 to 1986, with a few from the early part of the decade. Among the sponsors featured include Mudd Mask, Corn Silk, Sun-In, Love's Baby Soft, Pond's, Max Factor, Verve, Maybelline, Bonne Bell, Almay, Artmatic, Pantene, Vidal Sassoon, Neutrogena, Oil of Olay, Charlie perfume by Revlon, Jontue, Nail Art International, Jovan Musk, Zazu Hair ColorWash, Krazy Nails, Clairol, Conair, Coty Wild Musk Patchouli, Stetson, Tabu cologne, Canoe, Sally Hansen, Faberge Organics, Brut, Queene, Helene, and even a segment of Woman's Page with Larry Freeman and Dorothy Hamill.

As an 80s teen, this collection is so fantastic!!! Hard to believe today how important being tan and blonde was back then. I started "fake and baking" as a freshman in high school. Today in Oregon you have to be over 18.

I love 80s beauty products commercials because they remind me of watching tv all morning and day as a kid over at my grandparents house. Great times, no responsibility, and just watching these types of commercials because they were so relaxing!!!

This is mostly non-broadcast promo/instructional videos for Clairol, Conair, Sally Hansen, Freeman, Zazu, Krazy Nails, etc. I remember the Zazu hair mascara. It always looked like what it was: clumpy, painted on colour, but it blended in well with the over-frizzed, over-sprayed hairdos of the 80s. I bleached the hell out of my hair with repeated applications of Sun In. I had to use an ash blonde permanent colour, and a violet-tinted shampoo to get rid of the glaring brassiness. When I went red for the first time, it was for my first "bad girl" role, and I used Flirt (Clairol's version of Zazu colour glaze). I still remember the nice smell of it. The trouble with Emeraude perfume is that it smells exactly like the cheap spray-in temporary hair colour I used when I was in plays in high school. This completely shatters the rare, luxurious, sophisticated image of Emeraude.

I want to touch that or hold that wonderful oil of olay soap but it probably doesn’t exist anymore because this was an 80s product.I felt like feeling it since I watched this upload by me hearing of how nice it feels on the hands.

I've never heard of Born Blond hair coloring, but apparently it was around for some time. It was a sponsor of early episodes of Match Game (1973-4) too.
