If your not beatboxing already, then start! If you already beatbox then good for you, now go practice! But seriously Beatboxing is crazy fun and very musically satisfying and I cant reccomend it enough. In the shower? Drop a beat! In the car? Drop a beat! Takin a poo? Drop a nasty fat beat!

Great video! Also, the “tight, jayton voice” (calling this “pash voice” is a common mistake originated by Wunknown in his vibration bass tutorial by calling the tight voice pash voice instead, in actuality jayton from the mad twinz is the one who popularized, but did not originate, this type of vocal filter effect), actually does have a name in a different culture. In tuvan culture, the central Asian Siberian culture of people who discovered throat bass themselves culturally, but they call it kargyraa or what we call throat singing, they also use this tight jayton voice as one of their cultural singing styles alongside karygraa. They call this tight voice “khoomei”, so I like referring to it like that instead of “pash” or more correctly “jayton voice” (named correctly so because jayton, not pash, is the mad twin who does most of the talking/rapping/utilization of this voice as the front man of the pair. Also effaybee, king inertia, vocodah, And enel are also very well known for using khoomei pretty much as their default beatboxing voice lol

8:09 to get the liproll, you should start with regular liproll (that stuff that Napom uses in You can't roll like this). It's like something between an inward kick(learn it too 'cuz that makes the stuff) and a kiss hi-hat (hello to bmg) on the side of your lip when you jaw is much lower than usual. Just google for some tutorials, they'll help a lot)

@@thepoofster2251 Yeah mate, do more liproll stuff like codfish liproll, laser liproll ect. (still a lot of tutorials on KZfaq). If you feel that you struggle too much, than write your questions under this comment or write me on Instagram ( account name - de.useless), both variants are perfect. Keep it up, man))

9:19 vibration bass is vocal fry plus throat bass (remix and indocator said this). What you are explaining is just a subharmonic singing

Correct, but you are inaccurate about indicator’s and remix’s statements about vibration bass. It’s not vocal fry plus throat bass like they mistakenly say, it’s actually tight voice/jayton voice plus throat bass. There’s a difference. Vocal fry is a human vocal register, the lowest of the four (vocal fry, modal/chest voice, falsetto, whistle tone), and is a vocal bass onto itself. Tight voice/jayton voice is not a bass, but rather is a texture or a type of vocal filter effect you can apply to your speaking or singing voice.

I call it starsky bass because starsky was the original French beatboxer who discovered that this kind of uvular oscillation could be a bass! I realize and acknowledge that a lot of folks have been referring to this as “vocal bass” due primarily to pwad’s shoutouts on swissbeatbox and his tutorial where he called this bass that. However, my personal opinion as a beatbox scholar is that this is a bad name because 1 it’s unclear in giving any information on this bass, it’s origin, it’s sound or quantities, history/creator, or identity and 2 it muddies up the meaning of the term vocal bass because technically, there are MANY vocal basses in the world of beatboxing sounds (throat, chest, subharmonic register, evil, inward, etc) since this is a whole super category of basses, distinguishing them from the other superfamily of basses, those that do not use the components of the laryngeal area, such as tongue, lip, and cheek-derived basses. I feel that calling the vocalized uvular oscillation bass “vocal bass” can potentially lead to confusion when approaching these basses in this way. That’s why I prefer calling it starsky bass, I feel it’s fitting and also I, like many others who learned this before pwad came up big, learned it first from alexinho’s swissbeatbox tutorial, he called this bass that name in it and it just stuck with me.
